Group Finder for Random Dungeon

Greetings Community,

I just wanted to leave this here in case someone was experiencing the same issue. I am having a real tough time finding random dungeons through the group finder. Sometimes I find a group within 10 minutes, other times it takes 2 hours for me to find a group. Now I understand being a DPS specced class it will be tougher to find a group inherently -- does it get easier to find a group after level 30? Or is there something going on in the back end that the developers are aware of?

Don't know what platform you are on but on PS4 NA the group finder is not working correctly anyway and has not been doing so since they did the last DLC (Dark Brotherhood). I think this is the case on all platforms.

Speed in finding a group (when it works) has nothing to do with your level, only your role.

I was able to find a group instantly as a healer but my 2nd dungeon run didnt happen after waiting over an hour.

Playing on NA PC I find that finding random dungeons in Group finder is a crap shoot. Sometimes real quick sometimes takes forever, no matter your role. Your level doesn't really matter. If you queue for a random normal dungeon, you often get a mix of high and low level players, they are all pulled from the same pool. It is easier to find groups for specific dungeons (especially pledges) if you are high CP though, but those groups are usually called for in zone chat.

You can wait 2 minutes or 2 hours.

Was hoping "random" meant dungeons. Come to learn random means chances of getting a group.

They weren't kidding when they say random!

Single DPS = wait forever in queue, your spot in the queue resets every time you zone or go through a door etc.
Single Tank = usually fairly quick to get put in a group
Quickest way of getting a group is to get a buddy to group up with you for a random. Two of any type queued up greatly increases your chance of getting a full group formed.
Time of day also matters though, everything takes longer outside peak hours (7-11pm EST, for NA megaserver, PC).

Is that true? my experience seems to be if queue doesn't pop in 10 minutes just re-queue, almost as if its not first in first out, but last in first out.

I used to just let it sit in queue and would reach over 2 hours sometimes, then i'd re-queue and it would then pop in a few minutes, it seemed suspicious so now I re-queue quite often, hence my suspicion on it auto re-queueing every zone change, maybe it's just bugged.

I have found leaving the queue and going back into it has worked in the past (on PS4 NA) but doesn't help now as I can't get into a group at all - tank, healer or dps - as the finder is broken.

Finder has been odd lately...

Today it found me a "group" in 20 minutes. I put that it quotes because there were only two of us. He left shortly afterwards, and so 15 minutes of waiting for me.
My role was marked as Healer only.

Last week, it found me a group in less than a minute. My character was marked as Healer and DPS, and I was assigned the role of DPS. It was a full group of four.

... So according to the finder, there are too many healers and not enough DPS? Or something.
These are the only groups I have gotten through the group finder since the Dark Brotherhood dropped.

Me and my partner queued as Tank and Healer/DD for the silver of the day at like 8pm and it took us like 1 hour to get in, by that point I just searched for people manually. Something is definitely not right.

There is a simple reason why it does not work, its not broken, it's down to elitist behaviour, the probs is people who have cp 160 gear think they are ready for end game stuff, but what i find when teaching dungeons for the guild is there skills are not up, when i ask them most of the time there skills are around 30-40 when they reach cp 160, so what has happened people have found this out and thus just post in zone chat and look for people with over 300 cp

I have noticed this also. In my case I think it has something to do with lvl. My dps just hit 50 last night and my healer is only lvl 12 so my possible dungeons is quite lower on my healer.

It's definitely broken. Some times I get in as damage dealer in 5 minutes and other times it takes 3 hours as a tank. For the daily gold or even random normal dungeon. No rhyme or reason. No logical explanation based off time of day, dungeon type, queue time, role choice, etc. It's gotta be some sort of technical/programming issue and not a matter of player choice/behavior. And there is just no way it's a lack of players queuing. I've never seen the game so crowded on PS4.

I never queue as DPS, but my experience is this:

If you are level 30, it will only put you in a dungeon at that level or below (Zones 1-3).

I'm not clear on whether the finder tries to put you into a group that's actually looking for those dungeons first before going "full random", but I hope it does.

I also tend to end up in Selene's Web or Tempest Island a lot when queuing for a random.
