Everything in the store is horribly overpriced. But as long as people with a credit card and no common sense keep buying the stuff at those prices nothing will change.

I personally withhold myself from splurging money on vanities and the like (I only pull out the credit card for DLC) but I feel that as long as people are buying stuff it's more money for the game makers and thus more content for the players. If you guys aren't buying things cause it's cost prohibitive Zeni is doing something wrong. But if you guys just don't like how expensive it is and still spend the money, well I guess then we get more content :D

I have ESO Plus, so I get Crowns each month (well, every 3 months) and I have bought a couple of Crown Packs when they are on sale for half off. I have just under 19,000 crowns right now. I have only bought Pets, a few Mount Skins and some costumes that were on sale. I did buy the Glass Motif simply because every TES Character I have played has worn Glass Armor and the in game method with it's randomness and the expensive conversion material on the fragments was not something I was going to go through.

Why don't I buy anything else with all my Crowns? I can't justify the costs at $50 Retail for a Motif, or $18 Retail for a special Mount. The prices are too high for me to spend the real world money. Even though the Crowns I have are bought and paid for, and quite frankly have no value for anything else.

I am also wondering what Housing prices are going to be. I was hoping that we could buy them with in game gold. So, I am saving the crowns I have just in case that is the only way to get a house. So, until then, I might pick up a costume or two if they are on sale, but other than that, just collect my Crowns from the subscription.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I'm ok with the prices, depending on what's for sale I would spend up to $100 even if it was as simple as a costume.

Most of it is overpriced which I wouldn't mind so much if Zos showed they cared about the rest their game as much as they do the crown shop. The only new or improved things in ESO seem to be overpriced crown store items.

The way Zos is going to do the barbershop, character appearance, and costume dyeing I don't like at all and it may be the last straw for me.

I think some things are OK ... like XP scrolls & character slots. DLCs are OK. Motifs are way too expensive. Mounts are too expensive but I am fine with the mounts I have. I rarely buy pets, pets are ridiculous (except for the awesome goat!)

I REALLY wanted the Pact Alliance Motif & have farmed a few of the chapters & bought a few... that effort & money would be wasted if I now bought the full Motif book in the crown store... so I won't be doing that. Also.... even if you lay down 5k crowns for a full Alliance Motif, you still have to but the style mats @ 10,000AP per mat!!! That's a LOT of AP for a full set of gear!

It's been OK for most costumes and mounts and stuff. Only thing that ever irked me was Glass Motif, but that was simply because of how close-to-impossible it was to get in-game. Fragments of chapters and huge gold sinks to combine them? LOL no thanks. I've been subscribed forever, though, so I could easily afford the crowns for it. Since then I've never felt the need to buy a motif from the Crown Store, but I've appreciated having the potential as an option if I ever just can't be bothered with collecting it in-game.

Motifs are way too expensive but at least you can get them ingame (glass however...). the mounts are a bit pricey I wish they had some vanilla guar or senche for a massive gold sink. The first 2 DLCS were worth the price but they are starting to push the prices too high for the amount of content included in the newer ones...

I think anything that is just for instant gratification, should be high priced, as long as you can obtain them through your game play in game. That's why a loaf of bread is double the price at 7-11 convenience is expensive. I think the prices are ok. I am not going to buy any.

Crowns went on sale just before Thieves Guild on console. I had some crowns but had to buy more and the most economical purchase left me with an excess after buying the DLC which I spent on a pirate costume and an upgrade for my bank. I still have a lot left but I think most stuff is overpriced so my crowns just sit there until I think I need something. I don't sub because I think it is also overpriced for a craft bag I have learned to do without. As I said, I don't want or need the crowns and the only DLC I was interested in I bought.

The items and 3/4 of the DLCs are extremely overpriced.. Try comparing exp scrolls.. Or WW bite.. Its an utter joke.. The only item i bought in crownstore is wedding dress for 250 crowns.. Worth it.. Especially for the lols on my male characters and the black senche for 2500 crowns.. While the senche is of good looking.. It brought me nothing but headaches.. The sound it makes when jumping mounted hurts me. It hurts so much that i've replaced it with the 10000 gold horse.. Hope that there is a way to silent my senche mount one day..
Back to topic.. The prices are going nowhere but increasing all the time aswell which stricts my purchases of crownstore items to once a year or even less now.. Because absolutely nothing feels of any worth

Today the 3 Alliance Motifs were added to the Crown Store at 5000 crowns each. To buy all three would require purchasing the 5500 Crown Pack coming to £71 or roughly $85 (correct me if I'm wrong!). Besides the motifs we have seen individual costumes and mounts being sold for a higher price.

With ESO+ you get 1500 Crowns per month, which was great at the beginning. Now, even if you save your crowns you'd need to save for some time before you could buy all the latest high-cost items. Sadly, ZoS retires a lot of these items before we can save up so we reach for the credit card or simply go without.

Do you think these prices are too steep?
What would you expect to receive for 5000 crowns?
Should only Motifs be that price?
Should ZoS refrain from retiring items?
Would you like to see more bundles (Mount and Pet)?

Again, please share your thoughts but do so maturely and constructively or you won't get cake

ESO plus is fine and the crowns
The crown prices are too high only because there is not a foundation....things are all over the place so the concept becomes that prices are too high.

Retiring items is a bad practice only because the items are crown exclusive.

I dont think bundles would be good or bad but until the foundation is set and consistent, it may provide opprtunities for value based bundles off the set foundation.

This is my biggest fear. That cool new stuff will be added to the game and I won't be able to enjoy it due to not having a ton of disposable income to throw at it.

Already missing out on several mounts I really wanted just because I can't justify $40+ for a reskin.

I really hope housing is something that comes with the sub like DLC.

Purchasing items at the crown store is a choice - there is nothing in the crown store that you actually need to play the game and be competitive. If people keep buying the items, ESO will keep selling them at the current prices. If people stop buying them, ESO might look at reviewing the prices.

Pricing is always relative. Always. Are they too high for a piece of digital content? Probably. But if someone is willing to pay that price, then is it really too high?

Consider a loaf of bread. Would you pay $10 (US) for it? Or $2? Or $20? Which is fair? You can research back to the Roman Empire and see that demand effects price (even artificially created demand).

So the prices are only too high if no one is willing to buy it.

    Cazzy wrote: »

DLC? A game? Several different items? It's hard to say. But if I didn't sub and could buy a crafting bag for 5000 crowns, I might do that. I already own the DLC, so that would be a worthwhile cost/benefit win/win.

I didn't buy the assistants because I thought they were overpriced, which is to say, I didn't think they were worth to me what I would have to pay in real dollars to obtain them. But that's just how I think.

    Cazzy wrote: »

Meh. Again, I think in terms of what people will buy. If they put a motif for a revealing and unrealistic bit of female armor, something akin to the skimpy, boob and thigh showing costumes you might see on other MMOs, on sale for 7,000 gold it would likely sell like mad.

Would people complain? Sure. Would they buy it? Yes. Would the price be too high? Meh.

    Cazzy wrote: »

From whose perspective? From a player's? Sure, why not. Let me buy it at my convenience. Keep the price down a bit.

From Zeni's? No. Put the pressure on your buyer, give them a sense of urgency. Buy now or lose out. That's how it works with commodities.

One thing to keep in mind: There's not shortages of in the world of digital items. In the real world, Audi can make 10,000 automobiles. How many they make has some effect on how valuable they are. Make 20,000 and there's less consumer urgency. Make 5,000 and there's more.

In the digital world, there's no way for Zeni to throw up its hands and say, "Sorry. We sold out!" The only way to do that is the limited time offer.

    Cazzy wrote: »

No. I dislike pets in games. Well, except my cat. She's awesome.

I WOULD like to see more unique bundles. Maybe horse armor (I know, I know) and armor that match. Maybe a bundle of items that related to a particular race, motif, or other central feature.

    Additional thoughts:

I buy costumes I like. I've never bought a motif in the crown store. Not sure why, just haven't done it. I buy (1) DLC, (2) experience scrolls, (3) some costumes that I like, and (4) any horse they sell (what can I say, I like horses).

I never bought potions or food or other items like that. I've never bought the food/potion bundles. I bought the costume bundles, but the only "single" costume I bought was the Elven Hero Costume. Since I sub, I get lots of crowns, most of which I spend on DLC.

The crown store pricing for items you can also buy with in-game gold makes no difference to me, as I would never spend real money on any of that stuff.

Honestly on this I feel Zos has a right to set the price points for each item at whatever they think will maximize their profit - for cosmetics I don't care, so long as they keep working towards good content and a well functioning game.

The other thing is that I actually really appreciate prices being high on the dromathra senche, the frost horse and other rare mounts and costumes - I'd be annoyed if 50% of the population was riding around on these mounts - I like that they exist but only if they are somewhat rare.

Nobody is forcing us to buy this stuff.

The part I think is fair is asking for more advance notice for limited time items. If they don't want to announce the price fine, but they should at least say when the item will be out further ahead of time.

I think they're "testing" the waters right now trying to find how high they can push the prices before the "sweet spot" goes too far into "h*** no". Most businesses know you'd rather have 30 people buy at $10 than 10 people buy at $20. Especially since once design and coding are done you don't have to "produce" said product.it's the only reason I can think of to Jack the prices up that high(obviously they have enough buyers)

5k per in game motif just isn't worth it to me, but then I don't like those looks all that much.(they're nice, but not gonna spend money on something I might use once and think "meh" )

I only buy cosmetics if I have a character themed around them and it'll be using those items exclusively for its appearance and transportation. Pets don't do anything so they're a non-factor. I'm a Staves and a Maces away from the full Glass motif, but only one of my characters is actually using it so I'm in no rush.

I'm completely okay with limited items and prices overall. Because there's a saturation point where it doesn't make sense to buy any more cosmetic stuff for your account. I'd rather things be a little more expensive and force me to only buy what I really really want, as opposed to everything being dirt cheap and winding up with a bunch of *** I never use.
