Racial Spell Crit+ Spell Damage Ideas

To start out with, I love the changes coming to the races of Tamriel. They will be more balanced than ever before. There are a few changes I would be ecstatic to see, however. Altmer have generally been the best overall Magicka race, due to their elemental damage. Not a single min-maxer wouldn't pick this race for sorc. Dunmer have always been the best for Dragonknight, and Bretons were good for the other classes simply because they didn't have a buff fitting a specific class. I am indeed excited about the Dunmer changes because it encourages their use outside of Mag DK. I have two ideas, however, that will solidify this progress and make Dunmer and Breton more unique from Altmer. My first idea is to remove the stamina passive from Dunmer, because let's be honest, it is the swim speed of Dunmer. No serious stamina build uses it. In place of max stamina, Dunmer could have spell crit. This would make them the Khajiit of Mer. It also fits the lore because Dunmer are more sly and cunning in many ways, with the Morag Tong and all. Spell crit would show us the Dunmer's skill in craftily finding an enemy's weakness and using it against them. My other idea is to give Bretons magic damage. Realistically, if you buffed one of these two in my described manner, you need to buff the other for balance. Bretons are a mix of man and mer and the raw spell damage increase would show them use the brutailty of humans in their magic. These are just my thoughts, let me know if you agree with me!

I'd prefer argonians to Receivers Spellcrit Bonus, it synergizes well with their Healing Passives.

For Bretons, they Should Receive a Magic Damage Bonus. I dont See a reason why not, Altmer and Dunmer have These kinds of Buffs already so why not.

Another Option could be Something like Redguards have, like:
"When dealing Magic Damage, you restore X Magicka. This can occur once every 5 seconds."

Anyway, they Need a slight Buff, thats for sure

How did you come up with that now oO
Changing Racial passives one by one wont Happen anyway.

I disagree with removing the dunmer stam passive. While generally less useful than other passives, it also makes Dunmer the most resilient race to changes.

For example, my dunmer magicka sorc is not very fun for me right now, so I swapped to stamina sorc. The stam boost mitigates the issues I would have with with switching to stam on a magicka race. Dunmer will never be the best for stam classes, but they will also never be as wretchedly terrible as an altmer or breton. Also, a little extra stam is always useful in PvP.

While I understand where you are coming from, I also don't believe that every race needs to be a "best" at something. I am just fine with being second or third best at multiple things. The flexibility is really nice in my opinion.
    PC NA AD
Gamma Fyr: Dunmer Sorcerer Stamina DPS (the Missing Sister...props to those who get the reference)
Samekh Fyr: Dunmer Nightblade Magicka DPS
Claire Le'Rouge: Breton Templar Heal/Tank (the Resplendent Bastion)
Augustus Constantine: Imperial Nightblade PvP (Blackwater Bandit)
    Shadow-of-Sundered-Star: Altmer Dragonknight Lowbie

Dunmer are currently without a doubt the best Race for most magicka builds with an exception of Sorcs. In the next patch they are getting even more buffs. To give them further buffs beyonf the ones they already have or are receiving would grossely imbalance racial passives. Any damage/spell crit buffs should go to Bretons as they do not posess 2 damage buffing passives like the dunmer and the altmer do.

The so called "gross imbalance" you talk about is 2% more frost and shock damage which only a single Ability, "Force Pulse" completely benefits from, which is fine because nobody has to rely more on this Abilitiy than a Sorc due to missing class spammables.

Besides that, the Frost Damage Bonus goes almost unnoticed since there are sadly so few Frost Abilities (and everyone prefers Shock or Inferno Staves because DPS).

What im saying is, dont cry for nerfs on other Races, ask for buffs where needed (Breton/Argonian).

And Dunmer do not need any more buffs. Note I never said that I want the changes to them reversed. Any additional buffs however would be ridiculous. As for how minor those buffs, they are not minor if your build is utilizes different elements. My DK uses lightning staff on back bar for free AoE. He is an Altmer, so while my single target damage is lower because I lose 3% increased flame damage, I gain 4% lightning damage in AoE and since most fights are mixed between single target and AoE, altmer is nice for this build. Once the new patch goes live I will for sure be switching to Dunmer, since the buffs that they are getting will make them a no brainer race choice.
