Client side patches aren't going to fix that. My assumption is that the server/network infrastructure at ZOS can't cope with the amount of load it's under at peak times. The lag, crashes, random loading screens and delays whilst npcs load in are all symptoms of the infrastructure not coping with the amount of network traffic. This would explain why no issues were seen during internal testing, as they can't replicate half a million concurrent users.
If that's the case, we won't get a patch to fix it. ZOS will need to invest in the hardware that can cope with increased bandwidth requirements (servers, switchers, routers, aggregators etc). If this is true, why can't they be honest about it and tell us we'll need to wait for the upgrades to go in?
