When will we get a permanent fix instead of these bandaids?

It seems to me like the player population has increased significantly since DB and TG were released.

Client side patches aren't going to fix that. My assumption is that the server/network infrastructure at ZOS can't cope with the amount of load it's under at peak times. The lag, crashes, random loading screens and delays whilst npcs load in are all symptoms of the infrastructure not coping with the amount of network traffic. This would explain why no issues were seen during internal testing, as they can't replicate half a million concurrent users.

If that's the case, we won't get a patch to fix it. ZOS will need to invest in the hardware that can cope with increased bandwidth requirements (servers, switchers, routers, aggregators etc). If this is true, why can't they be honest about it and tell us we'll need to wait for the upgrades to go in?

This is why the horrible game performance happens after every DLC.

I've sent a ticket and tagged you with all the correct information. How long before I stop getting the "reset your router" emails and your team is capable of moving my toon out of wrothgar?

I had 0 crashes and hardly any issues (believe it or not) playing through quests in and out of Orsinium prior to the 16GB DB update, even fast traveling to the city wayshrine. I bought the Orsinium dlc post Thieves Guild update (have yet to buy any other dlc).

Late one night after the update, around 12:30am on a weekday, I was attempting to finish a quest with a friend where I had to find Eveli in the tavern. I rode into the city, walked into the tavern then after loading the tavern the game crashed. Every reload after that resulted in a game crash during the load screen. I tried a couple of times that night and several other times in the following days at different times, all with the same result.

I was not in the city itself, nor was I playing at a busy time (barely anyone was around then), and I hadn't fast traveled at that time nor was the game freshly loaded before riding into the city. I don't know what's going on but it certainly has to do with the 16 GB update.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom You may want to pass this along to those trying to figure out the issue here as this may shed a small glimmer of light on the problem.

I just tried to take a wayshrine from Elden Root to Stormhaven and got dashboarded. Also quest and npcs are still lagging behind. Took almost 30 seconds at one point today for some npcs to load in a low population area.
