Ideally, I should be able to buy a dye pack and be able to use it as a one-time, consumable item that lets me dye any costume piece exactly how I want it, like the people who subscribe can do with their costumes.
I will absolutely never buy a dye pack (and by extension, any costumes) the way that they are now. It makes no sense from any perspective to do so.
Please seriously reconsider the function and design of these packs. There's no incentive for people to buy them right now. The whole point of character customization is exactly that, customization. With restricted dye selection (seriously, no rare dyes? almost every dye I use right now is a rare dye) and a limited, cycled out system, you're probably never going to get the colors you want. It just makes no sense.
I think this illustrates the perfect example of why reaching out to your community to see what they want before you begin designing systems is the way to go. You're wasting your own time, resources and money on something that will satisfy very, very few people and potentially losing out on even more revenue because what you've designed is lacking in value. And if you're simply making these options less valuable on purpose to induce the psychological comparison effect to make us want to sub, that's even worse. I won't subscribe at all unless there's a viable alternative.

@Mettaricana Since free costume dying is only available to ESO Plus members, dye stamps allow non-Plus players to purchase a preset consumable configuration of dyes to use on one costume.Mettaricana wrote: »Ok I missed the memo what's a dye stamp and its relevance to costumes dyes?

I was very excited with the thought of being able to dye my Dragon Priest costume so I could look like the Dragon Priest in my avatar's picture, and I can't put into words how mad I got when I found out that freely dyeing costumes was a ESO Plus feature. I too paid to play this game, can't you throw us a bone now and then? Cheap move. Anyways, since I cannot, by all that is sacred, become an ESO Plus subscriber, as "there is an error with my Billing Address Information" (by all the gods, I tried), I reluctantly took a look at the dye stamps.
Seems to me like this is a bad joke. All the colours are terrible! I mean, red and gold is one of the most popular combinations ever, and where is this option? I mean, how could someone even think bright green and purple would be popular? Really?
I honestly hope you will rethink the costume dyeing as an ESO Plus only feature. There is greatness in admitting one's mistakes, and to deny us that, such a small little thing, was not only a mistake, but also a cheap move. If you're going to keep denying non ESO Plus subscribers costume dyeing, then please consider making it possible to unlock this feature at the Crown Store, using Crowns. Even if it's a token or whatever "one use only costume dyeing", just as long as we can dye it with our unlocked dyes in the order we desire.
Finally, do try to make better choices when creating the dye stamps. I mean, you could just observe what players usually dye their gears with and copy it. Poof! Profit!
Until then, I suppose I will just keep staring at the picture of my perfectly colored Dragon Priest avatar, as it mocks my ugly in-game Dragon Priest costume...
That's not a costume, that's a disguise. Costumes are items you activate from Collections, not from the Inventory.I just bought one. It says this in the tooltip for the stamp in red: "Requires an active Costume or Hat." When I double-click on the stamp it says, "This Dye Stamp has no costume or hat to affect." But I have a costume on (Seadrake Disguise). If this costume isn't eligible, I wish it would tell me. If these costumes I've gotten from questing aren't usable by the dyes from the store, I would want my money back But I'm guessing that's not allowed >.>
Delete dye stamps, sell dyes that we can unlock permanently and use on both costumes and outfits. Also add these dyes as difficult achievement rewards.
Y'all should be ashamed of the dye stamp system that you have implemented. It might make you money, but it's downright digusting.

- Was it clear how to use Dye Stamps?
- Did the Dye Stamps work as expected?
- Is there anything you would like to see added to the experience?
