Will overclocking memory help with ESO's memory leak issue (that causes the game to drop fps)

So ZOS has addressed this in the past, there is memory leaks and there are things that aren't multi-threaded, the result is utter failure of a performance on bare minimum specs and even recommended specs. I've just concluded finally that perhaps overclocking my dram may help with this game's terrible performance?

AMD FX 8320 4.2ghz
R9 380
16GB DDR3 800mhz

The recommended specs need to be raised if it's not my memory thats the problem.

To elaborate on this, ZOS stated something before I don't remember what or where, that explained why performance degrades over time.

No temperature changes, just FPS loss over time. No other games even at higher temperatures have this problem. I suppose this may just be a cpu core problem, and since I can't overclock above 4.2 for fx 8320 I guess I'll always have performance problems despite being over spec.

You are not understanding the problem. Memory leak means the a piece of software use more memory. It affect your RAM and not your CPU.

Also I'm experiencing no problem at all with 8Gb of RAM so you should be fine with 16, it's not your RAM the problem either.

A memory leak is where a poorly written piece of software doesn't release memory back to the system after performing a function. Over time you have less and less available memory, even though that RAM isn't actually being used any longer. Eventually, your system will become so RAM starved that it starts slowing down until your computer finally crashes.

This guy apparently has, the same cpu as me, and the rest of his specs are worst than mine.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom can someone address this? It's a known fact since 1.6 the game's performance has gotten worst. I experienced this more so being on an APU laptop at the time, and post-1.6 was getting infinite load screen due to objects not loading anymore.

Why has the game gotten so bad performance? Is this really the result of memory leaks or removal of multi-threading? What happen to make the game literally WORST over time?

Well considering I used to be able to play 30+ fps on an APU laptop in crowded cities, but now can't even play PVP on a mid-high end rig over recommended specs.

I want my mementos issue fixed, but performance is another serious issue plaguing this game.

Yup. This game used to run 300 people sieges with out any lag. It was glorious.

Nope memory leaks don't work that way, you could add more memory but that would only slow the time it takes for it to start paging to disk.

To be honest this should be priority no.1#

This is impacting the entire game, this is more important than Cyrodiil lag, loading screens in Cyrodiil as well as any quest bug or prevention of progress you can think of.

Once this is fixed the next issue on the list can be given priority.

Instead of a team working on many issues simultaneously I would suggest a team focus on a core of say 3 core issues max at one time. But fix it in a window period of say 3 weeks tops. The best way to do this is to clone the PTS or something and experiment on that in a smaller scale audience to address the issues mentioned above.

Now granted I realise easier said than done, but a constructive suggestion regardless

I also do not agree with the "memory leak" theory. This is a CPU/GPU calculation issue. I think certain functions are waiting on Server responses, which, with lag will drop the FPS dramatically.

A memory leak is this: When you open the game, and your RAM usage is on say 4 gig, and after playing for an hour it is on 5 gig, its a memory leak. But this will not cause a problem until ALL your RAM is utilized e.g. 8/8 gig used. At that point it will affect your CPU.

Only a better graphic card will help with esos fps issues.
The memory leak does nothing to fps if you have enough DDR/GDDR (8/4 should be enough)

I am not aware of a memory leak issue on PC, only on the console clients, with it being noticeably worse on XBox. This is being patched as I type this.

Actually you need a insanely powerful CPU core like skylark or whatever. Intel CPUs basically are the only cpus capable of running this game through it's *** performance.

This game's problem is something tied to CPU power per core, it's almost as bad as heavy console emulation for AMD cpus at this point.
