I think any wand weapon for close quarters combat would be kind of silly. Wand would be Harry Potterish.

Bound Weapons or Elemental weapons are sort of in the game already.

Overload uses the hands to cast magic but only one element.(Raiden)

I'd make the weapon either a bracer or arcane tattoos on the hands called Magic Glyphs.

Now just need new elements like Frost or Earth or Flame. Using the same element on both hands is similar to using a two handed weapon, more power and slower then Dual Glyphs for the mixer and matcher, less power but faster.

Look like this when just doing nothing.


Then the glyphs would glow when casting magic. The color spectrum would shift depending on the element.

• Red=Fire
• Blue=Frost
• Blueish White=Lightning

The glyphs would only be on the hands and some of the forearm.

If you wanted to do it easily you could even just make maces do magic damage in the sword and board line.
