Please add the "neither" option.
While it's sometimes funny to look back and laugh at the ridiculous and offensive messages you occasionally get after beating someone in cyrodil, it is also really immature. People wouldn't act like that in real life, they aren't role-playing, they are being little internet trolls and the game is better off without that behaviour.
However t-bagging, well I find that funny and don't see any problem with anyone doing it. I just wouldn't do it myself.
I do neither and I tried to teach my raids and the guild I was part of not to as well.
The EVE Online corp I came from had a reputation for being great PvP players but who held respect and maturity at all times, we did our job, won our fights and never smacked/trolled in an immature way. There was some more intellectual smack or RP smack but nothing on the grounds of rage tells, tbagging etc.
I've taken that as something I enact always and a take a level of pride in my ability to not resort to such things, each to their own though.

Battle of the wits is somewhat a form of acceptable trash talking, but it's more of a gentlemen-like competition of the minds. Trash talking that negatively criticize or with intentions to degrade the other person is negative and can be taken as unsportmanship like conduct. Definitely not condoned in any professional competition or sports. Of course, this is just gameplay, but nobody like anything considered to be negative or someone seemingly bashing him or her. You may have or claim to have thick skin or say it doesn't bother you, but, too much of (bad) trash talking or snively remarks will eventually get on your nerves. Even in professional gaming, trash talking is just not condoned. Overall, it is unhealthy and not positive.

Yes.. you're right, if both see it as fun and harmless competition.. nothing wrong with that, but, according to many people, there are a lot of bad trash talking going around in PvP.

No... not really...
I sometimes curse when I am part of a very bad PUG in Star Trek Online... Because the game mechanics are very easy to learn. But only few new players try to learn them. But usually they can't hear me and I don't trash "write" in chat. I usually just try to tell them how it all works. They rarely listen
wow you seem like the dryest person on the planet
I do neither... And its not all "in friendly competitive jest" Its moronic and it is also bad manners...

This is the type of person I enjoy squatting over the most because I know it eats them up.
