Maintenance for the week of December 22:
• NA megaservers for maintenance – December 22, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 8:00AM EST (13:00 UTC)

The single most important thing about Housing - It needs to be available to EVERYONE.

I only care about 2 things:

1 - People can have access with little effort -- just some spending
2 - The game makes a lot of money

I have no interest in housing unless it is free, but I would like to see everyone who wants to enjoy one can without jumping through hoops.

In my honest opinion I don't see the point of player housing at all, I'm here to play the game not sit around a Bed, a table and some chairs (that you can't even sit on mind you) doing nothing but trying to make-believe, and besides the options would most likely be very limited, what If I want a Coffin instead of a Bed? I doubt we would get that, you will probably be given a generic Imperial looking home that is identical for everyone.

    that's what everyone says, TX.

    until Housing comes out.

and EVERYONE, even the people who say this, buy houses and decorate em and all that stuff.

Housing gets suggested, Raiders, Progression content people, and PVPers all say "oh housing is pointless I wanna kill stuff not sit in a house, gimme more dungeons and raids screw all those silly "RPer" nerds."

Housing gets implemented, Raiders, Progresison People, and PVPers all sit in their houses, posting screenshots of there decoration and crap. Or they complain that now they want one and either can't afford it, or none are available.

I've seen it in every MMO I've played that has had housing. LOTRO, FFXIV, Dark Age of Camelot, you name it, exact same cycle.
I don't even care about what my gear looks like and I'm going to care about what a house I'm never at looks like?

I fully support people who will enjoy housing. That doesn't mean that everyone will. I won't care. If there are quests to get housing, I will do the quests. If there is a housing DLC that gives you access to houses, I will wait until the next quarter's DLC before I do another month sub because I wouldn't spend any crowns on housing or anything cosmetic.

Housing is great because there are a lot of people who enjoy it an I am for them receiving it. I consider it pointless for me. I thought the trophy room in Skyrim was pointless. My rooms were 100% based on what items spawn there. I've never decorated housing in any game I've played apart from adding practical workstations. I find customizing settlements in Fallout 4 annoying. So long as settlers are happy, I am fine. I don't care what it looks like. I don't care how long Geralt's beard is. I only changed my face in Skyrim to get the achievement. I wouldn't spend a single crown on a costume in ESO unless it is something idiotic like a Batman costume. I would spend 100 crowns on that.

But I think it is great that people enjoy costumes and polymorphs (though I don't understand the difference -- is the former just a gear change and the latter your complete appearance?) and ugly mounts that spew blue *** leakage and face changes and epic settlements and fancy trophy rooms and armor racks. No need for armor racks for me when I can put thousands of armor pieces in a barrel.

Here's how I hope Player Housing goes down...

    - Housing is instanced and available to everyone who can afford it
    - A House is included with ESO Plus
    - A House may also be purchased standalone (like DLC) with Crowns
    - House decorations / upgrades may be purchased with in-game gold from a vendor, or with Crowns from the Crown Store (would be cool if you could craft decorations, but a major extension of the crafting system isn't likely)
    - You may have one house per account
    - You may bring anyone who is grouped with you into your house
    - If Guild houses are put in, they are limited in quantity to the guilds which can afford to keep them (similar to the Guild Traders we have in game now)

I wouldn't be surprised if they made housing subscriber only. I would completely disagree with that, but it would not surprise me at all.

Yet I couldn't care less about buying houses, not in Skyrim or Oblivion and that includes the Hearthfire DLC which I never do so what would make ESO any different?

.... housing is not a need, it is a desire.

    Came here to say this

OP I know you understand the concept of NEED vs WANT...

I understand you WANT this so bad for all your friends too, but nothing we can say will change the way they have already decided ( months ago ) how to handle it. I can assure you the whole mechanic is already set in stone.

Here's to hoping we can let the architect in us out and do some amazing things not just have a generic house and bam you paid X amount of gold for Y house... & everyone who bought Y house's model looks EXACTLY the same...
