Not so related to this post, but supposedly, they are in the talks in making another sequel. I believe I read something that Keanu Reeve agreed, but unsure of the other guy. Nothing concrete yet, I guess..

I also think that needs to extend to the ZoS folks as well, they get a lot of vitriol, but they have done some really good things with this game in the past two years.

@Cazzy Agreed. Sorry that you have been harassed in game or on the forums. Really no excuse for that.

I do have to commend ZoS though for being pretty proactive in game and on the forums. For the most part, this community is pretty good. I do appreciate how they keep these forums moderated and topics on track. Two thumbs up.

    I agree whole heartetly.

But as much as I agree, I think it's important to understand that people act they way they do for a reason. If someone is being rude towards me, they may behave that way because something bad happened to them. So instead of getting angry with them, I try to understand them, and maybe even ask about it so I can help.

Of course I get angry occassionally if someone does treat me poorly, especially over a long time. I had that happen in a guild that Im in. The guy treated me like dirt. Even then, I try to help the guy if I can. Holding a grudge will only waste my own energy.

Being able to forgive, understand and show compassion to those who "wrong" you, makes the whole thing a lot easier to deal with, and may benefit everyone in the end.

I pity them. They must have awful lives and serious self-esteem issues if they need to dedicate some time in their day to try to make people they don't even know miserable.

Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

    Blah...
I've harvested zillions of mats over the last two years. I honestly could not care less about that node vs the potential happiness of whatever player might also be going for it. There are so many in the DLC zones it is almost ridiculous! I defer, and if they decide to pass by, take it. If they do take it, I hope in some small way it made their play a little better. So if you encounter me and I defer instead of racing you for it - I apologize. And if I see you in Cyrodiil, you're dead! ;)

I always try to be nice, respectful and helpful even to those who don't deserve it 'cuz those people are usually miserable in real life and their goal is to make other people feel the same way so if you let them get to you, get angry at them, call them names, etc. they win.

@Cazzy - I was gonna tell you to not hesitate to come have a chat with me if you see me in-game and feel like having a nice and respectful chat but I'm on PC and you're on PS4 so that's a no-go. hehe Anyway, have a lovely day. :)

If I see someone racing to a node, I just let them have it. Same goes for chests. Anything I can't walk to and get is no big deal to me.

If I see people in combat, I only jump in if I see they have low health or just got stunned. I use up my inspiration everyday anyway, so I don't see any reason to steal XP from 2 or more people. If it is a lone person, it doesn't lower their XP gain.

Take some time to slow down and enjoy the fact that it is multiplayer.

Noblesse oblige:) I do support your call for kindness and decency. Were all in the game to have a good time and besides the small amount of troubled people that get their pleasure from harming others we all want a nice and friendly environment to play in. We shape that environment by our actions, if these actions are impeccable we will succeed. Thank you for this post:)

When your in game and you see someone heading towards an ore you want, let them take it.
Why should I? To be excessively kind to a random player who most probably doesn't care about me being already closer to an ore than him? He will probably use the situation with pleasure, thinking he was better and faster. If I had millions in bank and had no reason to earn more, maybe I'd leave everything to others, including mobs, ang give away resources, but I'm still poor and ore is my main source od gold, so no, I will run for it :).
Sorry mate - first come first served. This is no GuildWars2 with their same resources available for everyone.
What I can promise you, is that I won't abuse any player standing aside treasure chest in a moment when he destroys items in inventory to make a space for chest's stuff ;) . I was abused this way a few times, but don't wish a revenge since I think it's a very bad habit and destroys the fun.

I am sorry about the harassment you have experienced. It is competition when farming in general. I have gotten to nodes before when all of a sudden it looks like someone stole my node but in reality, I know it is lag and only just looked like I got to it first. If someone gets a node and you think it because you got there first, you didn't. Now it is another ballgame if you are killing the mob to get to the node and someone steals your stuff. That does upset me and makes me wanna whack someone in the head. If I see someone killing things to get to a node, I will help them kill the mob and let them have their hard earned node. It is just respectful. Good luck in the future.

It would help if all nodes and resources, chests and thieves troves were all player-instanced, like mission objectives, and shorted the respawn times.

But despite the fact that this is not the case, a shortage is no excuse to ninja-loot.

I think I really need to stop chasing people for chests and nodes, even though it can often feel that resources are so scarce.

From now on, I will do my best not to race anyone in any MMO for any resource or mission objective or anything. At the very least, I'd feel better about myself, having given no-one any cause to feel aggrieved.

I already try to avoid being unpleasant to the unpleasant in chat, trolls are way too good at baiting. Like there's an open university degree in trolling you can get, it's uncanny how they know just the right buttons to push for everyone.

The guilds I'm in are mostly wonderful, kind and caring people.

To follow their example, not easy but totally worth it. :)

I think the number of resources we can find on the ground is sufficient. Just need to go away from the main populated areas, deeper into the wilds and look after trees, rocks, an edge of the maps. The nodes and treasures are there in great numbers, just not in areas where most ppl are questing :). But even in those areas sometimes I see players running blindly across resources, and if I see this I wait few secons - maybe they will turn back - if not, I pick it.

I also agree with you @Kalebron about players stealing stuff that are close to mobs we had to kill first to get to this stuff. This is highly upsetting, usually makes me to run after such player and use /shout emote from close range >:) .
