On the forum and in game. I've had a pretty rotten day with harassment online, sexual and otherwise - and I think with all the issues we've shared as a community we should be being a lot nicer to one another. When your in game and you see someone heading towards an ore you want, let them take it. If you're on a killing spree as part of a quest don't jump in front of someone and steal their kill. Try to be helpful, meaning try not to verbally abuse people or actively prevent people from enjoying themselves. Don't be rude on here, guys. I don't think I've ever felt the need to be to anyone here. Acknowledge the newbies! If they post, say hi!

KICHZY✭✭✭✭When I'm farming materials in Orsinium and I notice another player charging towards that sweet sweet reagent...sh!t gets real! I view it as a competition and I'm already planning my next dash before even picking it up. I don't know I see it as a competition.
As for helping people, If I see a player struggling with an enemy I will definitely help them. The same goes if I need a clear out of items, I'd much rather give them to newcomers in Daggerfall than sell them.Edited by KICHZY on June 18, 2016 11:45PM2 -

✭✭I can't be excellent to random strangers but I can be courteous and not race them to a lockbox, ore, etc. It makes you both look stupid, fighting over something meaningless.

Real life is already a big enough PITA without people bringing that behavior to Tamriel.
I've found for the most part that people I've crossed paths with both in-game and on these forums, have been awesome.
Sorry @Cazzy that you had to deal with the "other" sort today.
I guess at the end of the day, ya just gotta laugh at the way that some people feel they have to act.

When I was on PC I gave a newb a GOLD level 10 Whitestrake Greatsword. At the time I had gold to burn and was getting bored with the game. The player I gave it to was just baffled because I gave it to him randomly and then ran away.
I almost pissed myself laughing. I think I may have been a little tipsy. But it was totally worth it.

Yes! Some of us in the subreddit got a bunch of people together and went to starter areas to make gear for newbies and answer their questions during the free weekend.
Even if you are not a crafter or you don't have much gold, just answering their questions and being friendly and welcoming is already awesome.Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.

Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.

There are a lot of good/friendly folks out there.Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.***Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis1 -

If everyone practiced random acts of kindness, both online and off, the internet would be a happier place and "It's the internet, what do you expect?" would have new meaning. People seem to forget that there's another person on the other side of those pixels.

✭✭Know what? While running a public dungeon in Wrothgar today a player was reported by other players for typing abuse at other players through zone chat. What was humorous about the whole situation, is the fact, the said person could not even spell the insult correctly.

✭Sorry to hear you're not having good experience online lately. Do report those are harassing you, especially if on this forum. That is so juvenile and should not ever happen. As for the ores and mats, even it is petty, don't sweat it. There are lots of them and respawn fairly quickly. I get someone all the times sneaking in or racing me to get to the ores, mats or treasure chests. For me, I just let them have it and I go to the next locations. I even offer it to them.
On the kills.. oh, I did not realized someone else could take your kill points. I have the impression that all involved get the same kill points no matter who get the last kill shot. I normally do assist when I see someone engaged in a fight no matter who against.. the world bosses or the normal cronies running around. I do it so I can help make the killing and fight more quickly for the other guy and not any intention to take the last kill shot or kill points. If you say is true that someone could take the kill points away from the other person, I would be hesitant now even to assist in someone's fight.
