Are you a Hard core player?

    no i just casually.
I have neither the time nor the inclination to be a 'hard-core' player.

I log in most days, due to hirelings, guild store, writs, etc., but as for actually spending hours playing I just don't often have the time. I have work (with a long commute), other activities that I want to do, and occasional visits with friends and family. Were I in a relationship there would be even less time than I have now.

I also don't always have the desire. When WoW first came out I was much more hard core. I spent far too much time in that game to the detriment of other aspects of my life. I got caught up in the 'must have the latest, greatest, most powerful' mindset. I won't permit that to happen again. I now play for fun, for something to do when I feel like it. I refuse to fall into that 'I have to play to keep up' whirlpool again. I take it slow, explore everywhere, do every quest - almost always solo and at my own pace.

That said, there are occasions when I just feel like playing and I will play for hours a day for days in a row. At other times I leave it mostly alone for days or weeks at a time.

In short, I suppose I see myself as a casual gamer who occasionally really focuses on the game.

I was offended by his comment. I've played this game everyday since it dropped on xbox. I got 8 maxed characters and 752cp. If that's not hardcore I don't know what is. I've failed classes because I live in this game.

Why are you offended? That makes no sense. I was listening. There was no "everyone" mentioned, no implication of lack of dedication to the game on the part of a student who should perhaps rethink his priorities, no put down of the passionate core so why are you, personally, offended? I am more than certain that balancing the needs and expectations of players who have been on board since beta and played hundreds of hours since against those new to the game or time constrained is difficult enough without all the drama a simple statement of fact has created.

Yeah I was thinking pretty much the same thing. Nothing makes developers clam up faster than mock outrage over silly crap like this.

Then of course we will get there is no communication!!!!!!! from the whine machine.

It's a game Zos can't win so it's best not to play. If Matt is smart he will let the statement stand, and move on to other things. The constantly offended won't change, they need that platform to rail against whatever. Keep plugging away at whats wrong with the game, keep adding content and keep interacting with those of use who can have constructive discourse about the game.

Yep. Can't please everyone. Best to keep moving.

yes i play whenever i can game!
Since December 25th of 2015 I have played at the least 6 hours everyday. Needless to say I love this game and consider myself to be a hardcore player. I love elder scrolls and have played all the games in the series including arena, daggerfall etc. I have no need to play any other games while eso continues to cater to my play style. I'm really hoping that the "smaller, bite-size chunks of story" will suffice. Otherwise, when skyrim comes out on ps4 ill be enjoying that instead.

Matt is right on this one, the players don't quit after 6 month they just play weeks or couple month with high average gaming hours and then they have a break but come back after a while.

did you even read this forum this thread is fillied with people who play daily for hours and have bin since launch

You seriously think ESO players are playing 6-10 or more hours the day since 2 years without having breaks? Sorry but it's time for truth and a reality check. Stop being silly.

i play everyday 5-8 hours a day so..... unless i am physically not able to get on my xbox if i am not at work i am on eso

A little reminder that you do have breaks from ESO. Sorry guys but lying doesn't help this discussion.
