I play pretty much every night, maybe only for an hour or two, but maybe 21 days outta a little over a year I haven't played, so over 340 played.

But to be honest I've only seen about 10 other 501s on xbox thus far

Matt is right on this one, the players don't quit after 6 month they just play weeks or couple month with high average gaming hours and then they have a break but come back after a while.

any chance you have an updated build for DB.
seems a lot of people refer to you when they explain their build, figured i should come to the source
Yeah, it's updated in my signature. I included a few builds since magicka templar has a lot of diverse build options that all have the chance to be #1. Very hard to pinpoint one

I voted "yes" even though I don't really consider myself one. But I'm a total opposite of a "casual" who only plays periodically and isn't even that interested in the game - only shiny new content for a little while (Matt Firor's recent, now infamous interview).

I've been playing since launch, have several max level characters plus enjoy both challenging end-game content and just picking flowers and running around more or less aimlessly. My attitude towards gaming is totally casual: it's a hobby, nothing more and nothing less.

However, since I have been pretty committed to ESO for two years, I think it's safer to call myself hard-core in this context.

i'm more middle ground, i'll play eso for weeks but when i run out of stuff to do and i cba to grind i get forced to play something else for fun. i dont play a game to prioritise on grinding.

this would put me under matts stupid "players who play for 2-3 weeks then quit" like... yeah cause theres not enough from the new content to hold me for longer than that the dingbat.

To be honest, I dislike the terms 'hardcore' and 'casual'. I just consider myself to be a (very average but quite happy about that) 'gamer'. If game manufacturers, marketing folk or others in the industry feel the need to create labels to help them with their work, well that's their business I guess.

I'd like to play more regularly than I do, but ESO (and therefore gaming) is just one of many interests I have which fit in or around work, studying and family. I'm passionate about RP within games, I put a lot of effort into the characters I create and play, and i've been committed to the Elder Scrolls series for about ten years. I love my gaming time and I would be lost without it.

    @SirAndy I'm here because I can't play the game right now :(

My brother casually plays this game he doesn't have a forum acount and he runs dungeons in cp 150 shield breaker armor (7 pieces). He comes back eveyr DLC for a few weeks gets bored and plays other games. Why would he be on the forum, other then maybe those few weeks he's play for a couple hours every other day? He went inside vet mailstrom and died 10 times on stage one vefore the boss even spawned and told me that it needed to be nerfed. He is the type of person ZOS is catering to. The ones that shrug off the ridiculous *** that ZOS does like saying the enchants on pvp weapons were a bug. You think that cheaters will stop him from coming back for dlc? Nope because it has little to no impact on a casual player. It's late I'm rambling but anyways...
casuals out number us by a lot it's a fact. just listen to everything that comes out of ZOS's mouth like the fact that the majority of players weren't using weapon enchants prior to DB so they made changes because of that. Who the *** doesn't run weapon enchants? A casual like super casual, my brother even runs enchants on his not set piece bow that he crafted.

I have my gaming schedule set on "When I Feel Like It". There are times where I don't log on for days, there are times where I log in every day and play for a good several hours straight into the night. There was a time where I was away for a couple weeks cause I wanted to play Planetside 2 again after they released Base Building. I only have three characters, none of which got to Vet16 before the update happened. I've only completed a bare few of the Dungeons, most of which were Normal. I care more about how my Character looks over how high it's numbers are, and even though my Clothing, Blacksmithing, and Woodworking (on just one Character) are at 50, none of my Enchanting, Provisioning, or Alchemy is even at 10. And I couldn't care less about Achievements.

LOL, this is fun 80% really think they are HC with this game? Seriously? 80% doesnt know what HC is, go play Black Desert Online and see how long you last, I heard its sick as the old Lineage 2.

For myself, I dont know Ive always liked HC games I loved Diablo 2 when I was kid, I played it on PVP and HC server, those were the good times when we had full loot, also MUDs with full loot and full pvp (Forgotten Realms, thes best ever), also I loved Darkfall full loot and full PVP game, I love deep games like Civilization. Im suppose Im quite HC, but I love other games too so I cant be dedicated to one game so thats my problem.

Meh. I play as often as I am able. However since I have a family and teach/lecture at JHS, HS and University that isn't as often as I would like.

I also grew bored of competitive content several years ago and so I am more than happy just to explore every square inch of a single zone for days on end.

    What does that make me?

Either way, the binary Hardcore/Casual designation is far too limited to adequately describe the gaming tendencies and habits of real people.

Still, it amuses the heck out of me that you, with your subjective anecdotal evidence, are certain that the man who actually has the stats is in the wrong.

ESO was alot more HC when we had endless CP-progression. We as ESO community turned against it? Remember.

The game industry should definitely separate HC and Dedication. Some player can be very dedicated, play every day and play many hours but imho he isnt very HC.

I'd call you a Casual. Because you choose to take your time to enjoy the experience. You seem like a Journey, not the Destination type of person like myself. Just recently in Auridon I broke off from a Quest cause I noticed this other player standing on a Cliff, and then we just stood there, staring at the Sunset.

There should be an "other" category. Not hardcore, but "enthusiast".

I've played since beta (I have a history with ES games :) ). My main character hit each VR limit before they were raised - back when it took a lot of XP to gain a VR rank. My main is also a Master Crafter - level 50 in all crafts, all traits learnt. I have over 501 CP. I also have a second character that made VR16 before DB arrived. Both characters have full legendary gear. I have a couple of million in the bank and a crafter's bag probably worth over 10 million (over 200 in all legendary tempers). Hardcore.

However, I don't consider myself hardcore. All the accomplishments are just by-products of playing the game. I actually enjoy questing, and the closest I get to grinding is a circuit round Craglorn picking the flowers, admiring the views ... and killing the wildlife ;)

Today I have a free day. I could play ESO all day if I wanted. However, as a casual, I won't. I'm going to spend my time more constructively - all day drinking in a pub in London watching the football with mates ;)

Though I did log on this morning to do some writs :)

    Yes

    Do I play this everyday?
    No

I love gaming, being that way I play a lot of games. I play a game and i don't move on until it's complete and maybe I'll do it again. As for ESO and other MMOs, I don't play all the timw. I take 3/4 months off playing ESO and then play it with a subscription every day when those months are up for another 3 months.

Not sure how you get your vote at top of reply.

I voted 'No, Causal Player'. but I play at least once a day for several hours, if not multiple times a day.
I still consider my self causal. To me a hard core player is one that wants to max his character as fast as possible, have the best stuff, best stats, etc. Also most hard core players ( in my opinion ) play PvP.

That's fine, I have no problem with that. I on the other hand take my time, smell the roses ( or the skooma), so to speak. Only play PvE.

I don't understand why everybody gets upset by being called causal or hard core.

    Just my 2 cents worth

Asking who is hardcore on a games forums, is like asking who likes cars at a top gear show. It's pointless. You are not the majority, the devs have the statistics you don't. Your just very noisy, so assume wrongly, that you represent everyone.

If you were the majority, the subscription model would still be in effect.

Interesting results. 100 hardcores. Pretty small number when considering all players in the game.
