It's gonna lag anywhere you go, populated or not. All we can do is endure it until they fix it.

Nah for me at least it was no different between Elden Root (packed) and Hew's Bane (practically deserted).

Yes. It's definitely chigger since the update. Even in abandoned delves there can be 10-15 FPS slowdown. And NPCs take a while to actually appear when you enter a zone.

I assume everyone means "this" when referring to lag. Yes?

Also using an SSD, which should be smoother.

The performance appears to get worse and worse after every DLC release. While it appears to be mostly isolated to highly populated areas it still does bog down randomly at times.

This needs to be a top priority. Give the money milking "content" a rest and fix the bloody performance.

It's getting pretty bad, hard to kill boss in the dungeon with the lag. If it keeps like this I'm saying goodbye to the game.

The only place I lagged last night was in Elden Root...probably because there was literally 200 people sitting by the stendar shrine respeccing lol. I have not gone to the new area yet, I'll wait till it quiets down to step foot in there...

p.s. Imperial City Small Scale PvP is SO DOPE. Good addition!

lag on ps4 since the patch is TERRIBLE! slow laggy feel to almost everything involving more than 2 people, frequent load screens in the middle of walking anywhere, lag spikes causing deaths from multiple hits all "catching up" to the player at the same time, oh and FREQUENT load screens in even unpopulated areas. Forget about the Gold Coast and trying to do delve/world bosses....it feels like someone hooked the server up to a strobe light

Might be your connection. If it fluctuates alot it will lag the game

I only really felt the lag in Elden Root and Anvil. Once I got out of the areas with 200+ people I was okay.

Loading screens everywhere since the new dlc, can't play dark brotherhood because I get 6 loading screens and the npc's take forever to show up, the same in hew's bane, rawl'ka, elden root, empty delves doesn't matter it constantly rubberbands and lags out. Good job on the new dlc guys, you're really trying
And I play wired so I shouldn't have these problems, also you screwed up weapon animations and light or heavy attacking seems impossible to go of. I know it's not my controller because r2 works in everything else it's used for, sometimes even bashing works!
Please fix this mess and stop putting out new stuff before you fix the rest and screw more stuff up.

I think people are using lag and game performance interchangeably. Personally, I do not notice any actual lag (warping characters, delay in casting, moving, etc.) that is tied to sub-par connection. My Internet connection is running at 250Mbps downstream and 20Mbps upstream.

What I experience is terrible refresh rates (ie. FPS), popping sound, stuttering camera movements and all around asinine visual inconsistencies.

As I said before, instead of re-skinning another bloody panther model, get the performance back to a more consistent state. Technically, if this trajectory of terrible performance is any indication of where the game is headed, we will see consistency...

    Consistently awful.

Yep. It's why I will probably move on to other games now.

Lags even when I'm just flipping through the inventory while standing in a low population zone in the middle of nowhere. I originally thought people were making a big deal out of nothing, like usual. Now I realize the game really is getting consistently worse.

But we can wear hats and have personalities!!

    Yay?

Yes. The lag was sooooo bad last nite. Some disconnected during trials. The trolls in Sanctum were moving so bad, jumping frames. You couldn't tell what was going on. We could not destroy the catapults in Hel Ra, they glitches out. Had to wait 3 minutes for the undaunted quest giver animation to appear in way rest. The whole city was lagzilla.

This is true. It got very noticeable in TG. It's borderline unplayable now. We were clearing mobs in dungeons before they even became visible on multiple occasions last night, they just start beating on you and you can't see them. Also had several wipes due to everyone going to loading screen after you start a pull. I just can't understand why I see threads demanding things like barbershops and housing when the basic game isn't working correctly. Are these folks playing the same game that I am? What good is a barber going to do if he is cutting your hair at 10 FPS? That haircut is going to be a butcher job. (This is a joke folks, I understand that the barber won't actually be cutting your hair.)

It isn't. Solid 120 MB down x 23 MB up with an 18 ms ping to my ISP. It's definitely the game. Please don't feed into the typical "It's your connection" response that game companies tend to start throwing around. Not to say that a horrible connection can't cause issues, because it certainly can, but I'm saying these issues are real and its inherent in the game.

It's definitely an issue with the game and/or the server side coupled with the player count. I'm enjoying a tour around Wayrest as we speak with minimal hits to performance. Again, it's mid-morning so there isn't nearly as many people as during the evening hours.

I thought it a possibility but I have no problems with my connection with anything else or any other game so hence why I posted to see what others say.

And since players on xbox and even pc along with fellow ps4 players are plenty in agreement Id say its not a user problem.
