The only thing dying in this game are PvP-dreams and I wonder, when people will eventually get, that this is not a pvp game. It has some pvp, in a very limited area, well walled off from the rest of the world and it will stay there. You can forget about any dream of open world pvp - you got your playground there in Cyrrodil, now make the best out of it, because you won't get more.
PvP in this game is optional - who wants to do this, can, but it is not the focus of the game. I guess ZOS regrets the day, when they decided to have PvP in this game - this was a mistake and as much as they might see this now, they cannot get rid of it. So they will have to keep pretending, but I would not bet on that there will be a lot of progression as far as PvP goes. A few things maybe, like an arena and the occasional trial with DLCs, but otherwise ZOS's main focus was and will be on PvE.
In my opinion this is all good news for the majority of TES fans - that ESO finally shows it's RPG side, focuses on it's real strength and puts PvP on the back burner. And this is what I see ZOS doing - they finally focus on what has made TES great and phase the unwanted stuff out - so yes, some may feel that the game would be dying - but this is intended phasing out.
Edit: I think that difficulty slider will be coming, because a battle-level scaled lvl 4 player (in the way it is scaled now in DLCs) will have a hard time - too hard for many, and it might make people stop playing early on - a difficulty slider is necessary.
Lmao.
"Hey, let's not add PvP to a f***ing mmo"
What? Are you serious?
PvP is a huge aspect to any multiplayer game, go back to minecraft please.
And better yet let's add a single player Maelstrom Arena to a Massively Multiplayer Online game! Lmao.

It has been almost 12 years and WOW is still not dead yet. Unfortunately, the life of ESO will not even last half of that. Zenimax should of taken some notes from its predecessors.

The bugs and exploits that still haven't been fixed after 2+ years shows consumers that Zenimax does not make game balances or patches their top priority. A bad model for future subscribers IMO.

1. 4 is plenty.
2. Small-scale PvP is already coming.
3. Refer to #2.
4. I'd say the majority of the metagame aims for dropped gear. Only a few craftable sets are actually used by them.
5. This has been mentioned already but you can still buy some horses from the stables.
6. I think there are plenty of non-crown store costumes.
7. You're right; it isn't minecraft. They did, however, tone it down to appeal to a younger audience.
8. Cyrodiil is both, excluding Gold Coast and Kvatch.
9. It's true there are no really difficult quests in this game but the other 2 exist, although the former of the 2 is an opinionation.
10. They did advertise it. I saw the commercial myself, even if it was advertised for XB1...
11. Explain?

You really believe console players will be playing this game for another 10+ years, even after the announcement of new consoles coming out every couple of years now? You really believe Zenimax has the resources to continually upgrade this games software to be playable on the Xbox 6 if they cannot spend the resources on class breaking bugs? Come on man, with all the MMO's available on PC, consoles is currently what is keeping this company afloat.

Most likely due to the fact that the players on PC have destroyed the game for PC with all those hacks which probably would not have been so possible if Zenimax was not so accepting of all those third party mods. Despite that though PC is still in the game, and ESO is still highly thought of by the general public.

So for Templar players toppling charge being bugged for 2+ years which grants someone a free kill off of you (due to being locked out of any action) is deemed playable content. Come on, who is the liar now?

Skyrim was so buggy because single players games do not receive weekly updates ( due to no monthly fee or subscription services) which allows game developers to be financially supported to keep a staff of game developers to patch their game/ make it less buggy from weekly maintanence. MMO's do so. This is an MMO, so comparing a patched single player game to an MMO is like comparing apples to oranges.

Actually it is possible to update single player games via DLC and patches. Perhaps not back then but now it is. At least with that said the remake will have a chance to be playable now if it comes out the same as before.

Yes, I know single player games get patched, however the frequency is not high like MMO's. So comparing an single players buggs to an MMO where consumers pay a montly fee or store item purchases that support an development team thats very job is too make a game more stable is not right.

Hell, DCUO has been dying for the last five years or so...
Pretty much this^^^, wow will die, eso will die, eq will die, enjoy while you can games as we know it will die at some point.. and part 2's never seem to work very well.
It has been almost 12 years and WOW is still not dead yet. Unfortunately, the life of ESO will not even last half of that. Zenimax should of taken some notes from its predecessors.
Wouldn't be so sure of that yet. Zenimax is constantly turning heads with every DLC, thus extending its playability.
The day zero bugs/exploits says other wise.
This isnt true. Its just your opinion.I and tons of other players, obviously, find ESO to be quite playable.
Some of the issues are annoying and exploiters of some outrageous acts should indeed be penalized for doing so but whuddyagunnado... I don't like them but they aren't gamebreaking like Skyrim's bugs were.
That is the problem. You are comparing a single player game to an MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online game)
No I'm not. I'm comparing the bugs from one game to the bugs from another in quantity and quality. Has nothing to do with the games themselves.
Seriously though Skyrim was totally unplayable and I am hoping the remake is not a repeat of that hot mess...
Well I could easily compare the bugs and exploits in this game to many others I've played both single and multi player but they were never gamebreakers like Skyrim's. Skyrim is literally the only game I found unplayable, regardless of it being single or multi player. It basically builds a tolerance to piddly bugs and exploits like ESO has.

So why not focus on the one we have and advocate for change...rather than talk about the next version, which could be years away if ever.

Why are you still using a single player game as an excuse for Zenimax's lack of game fixes for the past 2+ years in their MMO. This is pointless to debate. Good day lol.

Because as I already said the bugs in ESO are piddly in comparison to the ones Skyrim suffered from. Doesn't matter what kind of games they are ESO is not unplayable. If it was it really would be dieing.
