DLC Fishing Challenges

Hello. Obviously fishing is issue #1 for ESO or no one would post about it? Right? Good, we agree! Fishing is #1...

Anyway, for the base game having 15 full PvE zones with 12 rares each, 3 starter zones with 1 rare each, and a PvP zone with 12 rare fish and one of the water types limited to a tiny area makes getting Master Angler a big deal if you are into hard achievements. With DLC such a grand enterprise isn't possible since each purchase is a single self-contained zone, but still, when Imperial City dropped the fact that fishing was in a PvP war zone filled with daedra gave it a challenge. Orsinium hit and the Crab-Slaughter-Crane fish, currently the only purple fish in the game, was the extra bit of challenge since it can only be caught under certain conditions.

I was interested in how Hew's Bane (Thieves Guild) and the Gold Coast (Dark Brotherhood) would add that bit of fun, unique fishing challenge and... they are just plain zones.

Some players may care, some may not, but I enjoyed "What will the challenge/trick be this time?" anticipation, so this post is directed to ZOS. Will future, more full-sized zoned have special treats for fishing again?

Is it strange that I also enjoy fishing in this game? I mean it's quite a mundane task. E cast, E reel in, rinse and repeat pick bait etc. Not the most complicated system.

I agree though, I liked the idea of the purple fish in Orsinium, I caught it quite by accident the first day it released. Still have it chillin in my inventory, it's starting to stink... I think that's why no one invites me back into a party

The Crab-Slaughter_Crane fish was so awesome!

While I am glad that I finished my Master Angler achievement, I do still like to finish the DLC zones. I was hoping for more fishing fun in the new zones beyond 12 rares. I understand that fishing is probably SUPER-LOW priority, but I would really enjoy seeing more fun stuff and an expanded fishing system/mini-game in the future.

Yeah I caught it early, too, without even knowing it was a thing and before the patch to fix the "it's available any time of day/night" bug. And since it's the only purple, I kept it as well. But it's not weird to enjoy fishing. There are lots of activities in the game and they offer different things. If I get tired of questing I might kill a bunch of stuff for mats/collectibles, and if questing/killing gets old I might fish. There are social media games are way more mindless than fishing in ESO but are far less scenic and relaxing.
