Idea for third dungeon level (Undaunted)

It seems to me that current group dungeons and arenas are too easy once you get close to optimized load out. I can only imagine how easy they are once you have BiS. I can see a lot of good players getting tired of grinding these dungeons for alternate gear sets. As such I propose a third level of difficulty called Undaunted. On this level, dungeon specific set drop rates should increase.

With this new level there should be a new Undaunted pledge. Unlike the current pledges, these pledges should be selectable by the player and weekly. By selectable I mean the player gets to choose what content they will take on for the weakly. Set peramiters like time limit, no death, and/or other content specific requaiment. As a reward for completing the content you'll get a platinum (insert contents name) key.

The platinum chest will contain the contents specific loot table. The key will allow you to pull one item that is removed from from the chest until the chest resets. Every item removed from the chest adds X% chance that the chest will reset. This number should be relative to the number of items in the chest, whereas it won't reach 100% until the chest is cleared.

I feel this would make all the content that much more enjoyable for min/maxers that just want that right piece. This also gives average players like me something new to strive for. ;)

    Yeah, I think this is an excellent idea!

    The "Undaunted" dungeon mode, should be the most difficult to complete.
    i.e BRING BACK the old vICP and vWGT! - I didnt spend weeks mastering the tactics to have it so heavily nerfed like they just did! :(

    I mean nothing from the Flesh Abomination 1-shots anymore. That was all the fun of that boss.

    People need to stop winging about the diffulcity, and just learn the dungeons and bosses and tactics.

    So yeah! Im all for an added difficulty for all dungeons! It wouldnt even take that much from the devs..... Increase health of bosses and mobs slightly, increase resistances, increase outgoing damage from bosses, and add in 1 extra mechanic for last boss or something like that!

    That way the end game stays challenging, and plus you get a greater reward for completing it! :)

    ikr, I'm on ps4 and was finally able to get through these with little problem. I feel it cheapens my friends and my effort to have this stuff become so much easier tomorrow :unamused:

    Yes.. with faster leveling up on undaunted skills would be nice also. Just finished another dungeon (good group today), but no increase to skill bar. Ugh!

    Bad idea.

    I would very much like to have a new, harder mode for dungeons, and I have stated that in some other threads.

    My idea of "Nightmare mode" is:
    • Nightmare mode can be activated inside the veteran dungeons, right next to the entrance.
    • Loot table and drop rates are the same.
    • There is a higher chance for Epic quality items, with a guaranteed Legendary item from the last boss.
    • If the veteran pledge is completed while the Nightmare mode is on, you get two gold keys instead of one.

    2 new dungeons seems to pretty nice and even little challenging in vet mode. Atleast with 300cp group.

    The undaunted level dungeon challenge and better gear drop is a good idea. I don't think a weekly pledge for them or special chest is needed. The added challenge would be welcome.

    I can see how the special pledge may seem excessive, but let me ask you how many hours have you logged trying to farm a specific set piece/master weapon? Did you ever get it? I know I've gotten very few, and with the expanded loot tables, and my limited play time a week (20 hours at best 12 on average) I doubt I'll ever build an optimal set that's not BoE before they become obsolete. I don't even want to think about master/maelstrom weapons. This gives good players the ability to build the sets they want in five weeks or less per set, depending on RNG, and those like me a bigger challenge to get gud on. Maybe don't add legendary items to the chest.
