Since DB patch, is anyone else's mutagen no longer smart?

This has really been bothering me on my healer, to the point where I'm just considering removing this ability from my resto bar.

How it behave before:

People with lowest health have priority.
If everyone is at max hp, people without the mutagen have priority.
If everyone is at max hp and has mutages, pick randomly.

Obviously this was a well thought out and great algorithm for making mutagen good. I'm now wondering if it is a bug or it was a deliberate choice to nerf mutagen to pick random targets always.
Can we get any confirmation on this?

IDK about mutagen because I use the other morph but the base ability and Rapid Regen are both working as they always have: cast twice and everyone in a group of 4 gets it.

I always tap mutagen twice anyhow, so everyone gets a stack.

Yep same on Rapid Regen, they broke the skill lol

It no longer heals the low health target, sometimes it heals targets with full health that ARE OUTSIDE YOUR GROUP when there are people inside your group with low health.....

It's complete RNG healing with Rapid Regen/Mutagen now....

It sucks...

This. It's working randomly for me. It's kinda annoying, especially when in a Large group in Cyrodiil. I spam it over and and over and only the same 3/4 people get it.

Yeah, I noticed yesterday and can say Rapid Regen is broken af too.

We were 3 people, my friend was testing some dps stuff on a big mob, I was tanking it and third one was healing. I was the only one to get even slightly damaged and guess where the skill went? To the DD. Even when I was on rather low health and the healer kept spamming it, it only went to the DD and healer, I got it zero times. Only after he used BoL and some other skills I got it again, but definitely when I wasn't in a dire need of it.

Yup, tried to heal someone with rapid regen, had to repeat it about 6 times until it chose the guy I was targeting.

Thank you for the warning... I will test this tonight on Xbox to see if it broke with the patch, and if so, replace it with something else.

This isn't the first time I have noticed this skill not being smart. On Xbox before the Thieves Guild update I was noticing a similar issue.

I was working through remote desktop to grab footage I recorded yesterday, so please excuse the bad quality gif and the annoying watermark, but here is what this bug looks like...

It's usually only hitting 1 target and it isn't refreshing on targets with less duration remaining. It's hard to keep it up 100% of the time on all players. It sucks because this was my primary heal.

I didn't see anything about this in the patch notes. This has really crippled my healer. I can't assist in DPS as much as I should be able to because I have to actively heal everyone, even on easy trash pulls.

Having the same issue. There could be 3 people within 10m of me and one player with 50% health but the Mutagen/Rapid Regen will always go to the players with full health.

Same here. I was chasing down guys with low health, but rapid regen would skip them and heal those with full health. I would spam it 4-5 times around them and these guys that are near death would not get it.

I think its a good move mutagen is like the most mindless healing skill in the game.

But at the same time it makes it kinda useless.

And That Has Always Been The Biggest Problem With Healing In This game. Almost all of it is fire and forget. As in you don't have to actually target anyone. Just press a button. If they actually made more heals targeted, or a target lock system on a heal(hi Tera) healing in this game would feel more fun and rewarding. Now it is just press buttons watch health go up.

To be clear this is not a dig at the healers in this game or me saying healing is easy in this game. It is me trying to say Tha the way healing was designed in this game is perhaps as boring as you could make it. It is like pressing a random buff button every couple of seconds.

But since the game was designed that way, when you break the smart heal, it becomes near useless in places.

Oh, sorry for the confusion. I wasn't actually playing remotely. I had played and recorded locally the night before but used AVS via remote desktop to cut the clip and export it as a gif.

I can certainly see your point. In most situations, healing amounts to casting a couple of spells and then switching to DPS until someone takes a big hit. At least that's the case for players with solid builds and gear. There are a few bosses in veteran dungeons that require more active healing, particularly in CoA and the IC stuff.

How it works for me right now:

I cast it and 2 people at random get it. I cast again, 2 more. I do this until everyone, including myself, in the area is hit. After that, it targets the same 2 people every cast thereafter until it starts wearing off the others or I don't cast it for awhile.

Same here. Broken on console. I can spam it and it will go to the 2 people with full health while leaving the other two near death. PLEASE can we get a response @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_GinaBruno
This is how we 3 man dungeons but since it isn't priority targeting anymore it's not even worth a skill point.

I've taken it off my bar. It's completely useless until this is fixed. I don't have the time or spare magicka in the middle of a boss fight to cast it ten or more times in a row just to get it to target the one person that needs it. I use Illustrious Heal for everything except single target spike damage now (that's what healing ward is for). Thankfully my NB healer can use Funnel Health to provide some healing over time.
