Are you running the launcher as admin?

The best advice I can give ( and I do this often )

    1. In the launcher stop the down load if it is still downloading
    2. turn off automatic updates
    3. there is an option.. fix ESO.. ( click to fix ESO )
    4. reboot your computer
    5. download the update

It has always worked for me when my download just gets stuck.

If you want a friend, get a dog.

This error is all over the forums and player knowledgebase ... a simple search would have sufficed.

Ignore the error, close the launcher, and start the game using eso.exe from whichever folder eso is installed to. (Better yet, put a shortcut to eso.exe on your desktop).

This error has been around forever, most of us don't use the launcher other than to download patches on patch maintenance days, we don't use it to launch the game ever.

Epona was a Romano-Celtic goddess dating back to around 1800 to 2000 years before computer games were invented.

But how do you install patches if you can't open the launcher?
