From PC to Console player.Console players please listen.
First i have to say that pardon my not perfect english,its my 2nd language.I have been playing this game since beta on PC.I have been playing as a tank since release.I have tanked,DPS and healed every single vet dungeon( ecept WGT and IP)Now I am playing on console and this is the imppresion I get after running countless dungeons in console;console players are very uninformed about the mechanics of this game and the result are lots of fail runs.No wonder from where the uncompleted dungeons data that ZOS get are coming from.
I have seen so many wrong things,from people reading the opus when not needed to players saying that no tank use resto staff( i like S&B on both bar,but a resto in 1 bar is viable),people telling me that Maw of the infernal has to be tanked on the fire trap,if not its a wipe.I have seen most of the DD barely doing any damage at all.Overall you can quickly notice the difference in player skills between console and PC after you have run many dungeons.Dont get me wrong i have got in groups with very skilled players but is so rare.
I think the reason why you find more skilled players in PC than console first come from text chat.On text chat on PC you can read people talking about mechanics in guild and zone chat.Thats free info for the uninformed.Also seems like many people get shy to talk on voice chat.Of all the many runs i have done on console I would say 50% dont use Vchat.Which is frustrating because you want to teach them the mechanics but you cant.But that is a problem that will be eliminated once ZOS implement text chat on console.
Now the second reason i think there is more skilled players in PC than console is access to web information (easy to access on PC) and that many console players are new to the MMO genre and are not used to search the web (the big player manual) to get the info they needs.
So here i say to console players.MMOs looks easy to play and master on the surface but under the hood there is a lot of info and mechanics that the game dont supply to the players that will totally make you a better player.You can find all that info on the web,plenty of sites with that info you are missing.
So go console players, check the info on the net.Make yourself a better player and you will totally enjoy more the game.There will be less fail runs and lot less frustration and wasted time for everyone
. Also there be less nerf to dungeons I think.

✭✭PC players on average are more serious gamers, so that will explain the skill gap. Chances are that those players are also not on these forums, like I said, because they don't take this games as serious. So honestly you aren't going to reach your target audience on this website, unfortunately.

Sadly people will continue to be people - some (if not many) of whom are willfully ignorant and inclined to anger when given suggestions and advice.
Personally, I haven't completed any dungeons since I re-started on the EU PS server (I tried one, but it did not go well...stupid healer couldn't heal*).
At some point I'll try again, and will do some reading beforehand...but I won't be watching videos. The only time I could watch videos is during the same time I'd get to play games. Guess which one wins?

You guys have a good point in that not many players comes to the forums and will see my post but at least some will do.Also i can send people to take a look at this disscusion and that may encourage them to be better informed of the game.
If only I can have hard proof to show others the gap in skills between the two platforms.0 -
GivvumBoane✭✭✭✭Let's not forget plugins, which console players have access to none. These supposed DPS players often have no idea what their actual DPS is. They assume that since they eliminate mobs pretty quick, they are dealing good DPS. Also there may be age differences in players. I imagine there are more younger people playing on consoles, because not many parents want to spring for gaming rigs for their teenagers. A console is much cheaper. Sure ,I normally go with a google search (and most of the time I read the guide ect ect but dont even look at what website I am at >.<.But i can mention Deltias Gaming website,I know he have dungeon guides as well as build guides.There is another dedicated player,Sypher,who contribute a lot to making information of the game.0 -

✭I agree pc gamers are usually a bit more serious about their games(especially mmo and rp type games) it's more involved(upgrades, tweeking your rig, etc rather than plug n play consoles) while mmos are not NEW to consoles it's still developing. Some will come around. Others...well, plug and play lol.(and I say this as an ex pc gamer moved to xbone myself. Just don't always have the time, cash, or patience anymore to keep up pc)1 -

Tats✭✭✭I think text chat is HUGE for developing skilled players. Every MMO i've played I learned how to play by asking questions and talking with other players who were better than me. I play ESO on ps4 and there is still so much I don't know because I don't talk to anyone or have any friends on the game which is a first for me in an mmo.

You telling me? I just mentioned 1 bad aspect of not having text chat but there are so many.When i started on console all I did was praying the Eights for text chat.Trading,guild announcement,zone wide communication ect ect. so bad without text chat.1 -

People who use controllers exclusively will feel clumsy with a keyboard and mouse. But someone proficient with a controller will get leveled by someone proficient with k&m. Analog response is just too slow. I play on Xbox one, but I have played mmo's on pc. Nic727✭✭✭✭Personally, I'm on console (Xbox One) and the only dungeon I did is Imperial Sewer. Not because I don't like dungeon, but because I didn't have the chance to make other one... I'm have the game since the start on console and I'm just lvl 19 lol. Just not playing enough... Whatever, when I'm in this dungeon, I'm always healing (like each seconds) and we can reach the enemy base in the map.
But that's true that sometimes you are seeing people going alone in the dungeon, but the rare time I did the sewer and there was actually a lot of people (it's like 50/50) you can actually group with some people and start chatting and doing tactics and helping each other.
I would like to find people to go outside (districts) in Imperial City, but there is nobody to join for that... it just happened one time lol.0 -

I was tired of incoherent players and the average skill level for PC players is much higher than that of console gamers. It's just a fact. magictucktuck✭✭✭✭✭Sounds like you are using group finder? There are lots of informed players on Xbox at least but we run with our guilds. There are a lot of random uninformed players queuing for dungeons with group finder. Lots of the points in this post are valid yet could all be solved by finding a good guild. Most good guilds won't group seriously with people with no mic. I do use group finder only if I play on carrying a group through a dungeon.6
