I was kicked from the only one that asked for gold weekly. I was expected to pay 40k in sales or a 5k donation. I recently joined a PvP guild though and I had no time to go round Craglorn harvesting mats to try and sell. I then stopped altogether when I heard that the leadership where selling the gold that we made for the guild.

Can be paid in sales, raffle tickets or auction donations. Both are trade guilds, I would never pay to be part of a guild that is not using the gold towards guild events or hiring guild traders.

None, but many are trying this nowadays. I quit any that start charging for membership.

Not because I can't afford it, but more on principle. I believe that this only incentivizes further exorbitant overpricing of decent placement stalls. I find this whole system to be a terrible short-term solution to a true auction house, and further jacking up the price by putting the squeeze on members isn't really helping anyone but the high volume monopolies.

I would personally like to see a system where anyone could sell on any stall, and simply pay a "tax" relative to the popularity of that stall, up to a fixed limit of say 20%.

High turnover items could have less tax applied on high demand stalls in order to keep supply available.

But yeah. A guild starts demanding payments and I leave.

But I pay regular dues to the ones that don't require it anyway.

I could also have answered "None" since none require direct dues. Some require minimum sales, some purchase of lotto tickets. Although I have no objections to the lottos I would prefer to simply pay direct dues on a weekly basis. It's the only way for the guild to have a regular, predictable income for hiring a guild trader.

IMO the "I'll only join free guilds" outlook ignores the real expenses of the guild and the members' responsibility for that expense. If it is a non-trade guild that does not hire a trader and has no such expenses, that is understandable. But if you are getting the benefit of a guild trader's services it's only fair to pay your share of the expenses. If you cannot afford such dues for 5 guilds you can't afford to be a member of 5 trade guilds. You can always start with one and expand as you grow your sales enough to need (and afford) additional outlets.

None of my guilds require dues or fees. Only two try for traders, though.

My trading guild now requires a one-time $5k for permanent access to the guild bank (to discourage bank theft). If you are active with the guild, though, this fee may be waived. This was something its leadership argued over for quite awhile, but decided was necessary. Everyone can sell on the guild trader, though, regardless of their bank access status, and is actually requested to sell whatever they can (but no minimums required).

The other requests donations for the guild trader. If you don't donate, you're still welcome in the guild and won't be kicked! They're debating requiring donations of $1k per week for bank access. To be honest, I don't care either way, I haven't even looked in the guild bank to see what they have. I am only in it for the active dungeon groups. :p

None. I donate to my best trading guild weekly, though. Voluntarily. If that became mandatory, I would leave the guild, no matter how good a trading spot they have.

I run a trading guild with no dues, but I do request that people buy raffle tickets if they want to have a good kiosk. If we don't have enough in the bank, we won't get a good kiosk, it's that simple. Sales taxes do not pay for a kiosk.

I don't know whether people who complain about dues/raffles are just expecting a free ride whilst GMs stump up their own cash for a kiosk or what, but basically if you want your trading guild to have a good trader that costs several hundred thousand or even several million a week to hire, then you need to contribute financially towards that. Or make do with an 'out in the sticks' trader and not moan about it.

I belong to 2 other trading guilds that have dues, and am more than happy to contribute - perhaps because I know firsthand what is involved in getting and keeping a kiosk.

I belong to five guilds — mix of trade and social/trade combined — and all five attempt to get trading spots every week. They're not always successful, but neither do they have mandatory fees.

Instead, they fund themselves through voluntary member donations, raffles, auctions and the occasional challenge from members to other members to match a member's, say, 1 million gold donation.

I'm in 2 trading guilds, one pvp guild and 2 other guilds that are more community based more than anything else.

As much as I'm too poor to sub to a guild I can understand why certain ones charge. I'm lucky enough that the 2 trading guilds I'm are are established enough on the server to be able to survive mainly off of their members sales

I left all trade guilds for facebook trader community pages better deals no price cornering no trader house cuts or listing fees etc. I ended up selling mats for better than trader prices and buying other tempers for much lower than the ingame listings. I was in 3 of the biggest trade guilds but I ended up spending 15k a week and only making 40k weekly went to fb and made 700k in a week with no fees never looked back now I got 5 social or pvp guilds to do stuff with rather than a bunch of trade guilds and itens collecting dust..

my big Trading guild id the only one that asks for weekly fees but it is only 5K a week. I make more than 100K a week from just this trader so I am fine with it. Besides, we almost never lose our spot in Wayrest and that is one of (if not THE) best locations for traders. A case can be made for Elden Root being best but I think Wayrest has more traffic

One trade guild that asks for 1K a week - but has a trader in a high value location, so it's worth it :)

I also contribute the same to the other guilds I belong to, even though I don't have to.

Rather bizarrely I saw one trade guild advertising in zone chat for new members with at least 120CP! Why would a trade guild care about your CP?

I'm a trader and selling a lot in MM prices so I don't really care about guild notes about supporting them by frequent donations, because it's usually issued for the players who join trading guilds and then forget to trade.

Just by seeling raw mats the guild gets a lot of gold so do it too and you'll be safe without donations :).

But my first guild in ESO indeed was demanding weekly donations of 2k gold. After their few unsuccessful trader bids we lost the outlet for weeks, while the guild still demanded donations. It's a pity that due to our GMs cluelessness many ppl including me had to quit.

Maybe it's their definition for "active players" :).

on PC none of my guilds require a gold donation, just minimum weekly sales. however on Xbox, every single guild I find has a 5k weekly donation requirement.

Weird how different things are over on console.

I also pay a donation in the two that dont ask for it but accept donations. I make anywhere from 20k to 100k a day so to me 5k per week per guild is quit fair. I dont have to worry about them not having one of the best traders every week, I just list my goods and make money. Having those prime spots means volume and volume means more money.

I said none but to be honest there is ome where I pay indirectly by the sales I have since it is a trading guild. I have no problem with the 7-8% from my sales to go to the guild since we have to hire the guild trader wich is very expensive, but also I sell everything under a day. To be in the guild you need to have sales of 50k/week, but there are weeks when I didn't do any sale and weeks when I did sales of 1-2millions and I still have a good rank in the guilds. Also there is the option to donate for the trader but this isn't mandatory.

In my opinion, it is simple, you don't have enough sales to sustain the trader, it means that you don't really need to be in that guild. In this guild that I am there are players with lower sales than 50k/week but they are kicked only if they are inactive or they never had good sales.

All in one I never paid directly and I will never pay since there are no guild upgrades lile in other games are (guild halls in guild wars for example)

I'm a member of three Trade Guilds, and they all require weekly "dues".

    However; I'm ok with it.

I move quite a bit of product through them, buy almost exclusively from within those same three Guild Stores, and net around 20k every day or so because of it. SO "donating" 2-5k to them to help them keep their Trader Stalls is really not an issue when they allow me to build my wealth with such relative ease.
