Is there a way to unsummon your Familiar?

When I am in disguise my familiar will suddenly attack and I lose my disguise - so now I have to fight when I would rather not. Can I unsummon? Also, it says in the Cannefor that you can use its special ability to heal you and it for 35% of health. How do I trigger this?

So since the Thieves Guild patch (check the patch notes on here in another section) the pets work by pressing once to summon them and a second time to trigger their special ability. You can't unsummon to my knowledge. BUT if you only have the skill on one bar and switch bars they disappear.

You go to your character screen
Go to your active effects
Highlight Familiar (other pet etc)
Click Unsummon

If you are on PC I just found this on ESOUI esoui.com/downloads/info1314-PetDismiss.html.

I haven't tried it but I looked at the code and it seems to be quite straight forward - provides two key bindings to dismiss your pets, one for each.
