How to be a successful stamina dk in pvp?

Hello all. I'm looking for some tips because I feel as if I'm really missing something when it comes to playing a stamina dk in pvp.. Me and my guild were pvping the other night, and all was going well. I thought my character was decent because I was scoring kills and not dying all the time; but then it got late into the night and we began dueling with someone they knew. I have a vet 16 stamina dk with 5 pc marksman set plus 3 pieces of Bahrahas curse. Mostly purple.. I haven't been able to get a crafted set yet because my research isn't good enough yet and I don't have enough mats to get someone to craft me one. What I'm wearing now is all v16 as well.

Anyway.. I went up against a mid 40's magicka templar. The duel swayed back and forth, but what ended up being my demise was the fact that he simply wore me out and I couldn't do much after a while except take hits. He seemed pretty skilled, probably more than me; it was actually my first duel. But I find myself losing in a good amount of 1v1 situations.Rank CP rank 270 and a vet 16, I would think I'd be able to defeat him with ease. Here's what skills/weapons I'm using:

First bar 2H
Wrecking blow
Executioner
Stone fist
Crit rush
Rally
Ultimate take flight

Back bar bow
Poison injection
Shuffle
Dragon fire scales
Resolving vigor
Igneous shield
Ultimate molten armor (pretty sure that's what its called)

Any tips on whether these skills are viable enough to not get whooped? I was thinking about maybe putting in immovable so I don't get knocked down as much.

All points are in stamina as well.

Ideally you want crafted gear, but since you mentioned you lack the resources im going to skip over gear and just talk about skills. I see you are running a stamina DK. Not too sure what your stats look like, so that info would be nice. For comparison, on my stam DK PvP DPs build I run -->

~4k weapon power buffed, 31k stamina, 11k magicka, 1500 stam rege ( + 2 piece engin guardian really helps)

As for skills I run, 2h/bow

2h: crit rush/Dizzying swing/executioner/venomous claw/rally Ult: Dawn b/ of smiting or leap
Bow: Poison injec/bombard(or shuffle)/wings(or fossilize)/igneous/vigor Ult: Corrosive or meteor

You seem to be playing a meelee focused stam DK. Your skills look okay but im not sure why you have stone fist. It kinda sucks even on a magDK..... If you are looking for a CC, I suggest trying Fossilize which I tend to run over wings sometimes.

Again your skill bar looks decent save the stone fist. Im guessing you just need better gear and a little more CP. The way battle levelling works is a little wonky. For instance, I can make a lvl 40 toon with lvl 40 gear but with 501 CP that has better stats than a CP160 toon....

Your skills are fine mostly. I'd swap Stonefist for fossilise personally.

Your gear isn't great to be honest. Marksman is ok, but baharas isn't for pvp, especially a stam dk. I know you can't craft, but you do want two piece hunding's. I'd couple that with 3 agility and 3 marksman for a good mix of regen and damage.

2 pc Hundings isn't going to offer much benefit. 5 pc hundings is probably what you meant, which is a great set but he may not have the cash for the mats yet.

Buy robust Endurance jewelry and enchant for weapon damage until you have cash to get Agility.

Gear-wise, you can run 5 Marksman, 3 Leki's so that you don't have to buy a lot more gear or mats.

I have level 50 blacksmithing and level 50 clothing. My research is getting there just not to the point of being able to make the whole set of gear. I'm always deconstructing and saving for mats so I'll have it soon enough. 5pc hundings is what I've been hearing.. What else would you recommend?

I'm at work but when I get home I'll post my stats for you guys. Thanks for all the help!

What platform do you play on?

Xbox NA. I switched sets to 5pc marksman, 4pc Leki, and 2pc darkstride. My max stamina is at around 28k, health around 10k and magicka around 9k, all unbuffed. My weapon damage buffed is only at about 2k though. I'm currently working on my research for medium armor. I have at least 4 or 5 traits learned so far for each piece of armor. I'll most likely go hundings rage and maybe something else for weapon damage..

From what I'm seeing, you either have to go for high damage or high sustain. I'm just trying to find a decent mix of both. 2K weapon damage buffed seems kind of low to me, but my sustain is decent. I probably need to get more CP as I'm only at 271 right now.

What do you think?

10k health? I expect that's part the problem also. What race are you?

I think your main focus should be to gather the materials for 5pc hundings. Vr16 mats are pretty cheap nowadays, I'm sure someone on here will craft it for you.

Go to the crafting page an post a request when you have the mats, I had someone make me armor days ago because I didn't have the required 8 trait.

This is outside of cyrodiil and unbuffed. When inside pvp, I get the boost plus I use max health and stamina food and that gives me around 22-24k health. I'll look into buying mats.
