@ZOS: Why must you know all 9 traits to craft one specific trait? [example: Eternal Hunt]

My biggest complaint with 9-trait sets is just how annoying and niche it is to get nirnhoned.

EVERY other trait/sind is accessible at any level or zone except nirn.

Just feels awkward now having to go back to a dead zone to get something obscure that is meh... (unless you buy it from another crafter. Even still, you have to go to Craglorn to grind RNG for stones.)

Im actually confused as to why these things werent added to the new zones. What sense does it make to create a trait that you can only find in a specific location.

Simple solution would be to scale up the mats in craglorn. I believe the stones are geographically exclusive to craglorn and it wouldn't make sense for you to gather them anywhere else.

It's not about endgame. It's about RP. I would never use this set while end game PvE-ing. I just hate it's limiting me to such a degree. As I said, I don't even consider this a good set [for my build] and it requires 9 traits. It's silly.

I know, I know, I'm obviously a bit overreacting, but I find this to be like something that force-feeds you the incentive to play, when the incentive itself should and *IS* coming from the game's actual content, which is actually relevant. Also, as a long-time paying consumer I'm not really happy when a game limits the way I want to play.

EDIT for question above: I RP every story content and some sets' bonuses provide enhanced experience as would be the case here. Sadly, I had to make do with Night's silence.

My plan was to make us of three seperate sets to create a thief of my own liking. Two of those, the one from OP and Morkuldin, were locked because of 9 traits. Sadly, this slowed me down for several months (and no, I won't beg my guildies for free stuff).

Nobody's going to make you "Free Stuff" unless they're a saint anyway! When he said ask guildies to make you the set, I'm sure he meant for you to pay them for their time and effort.

To give crafting, the people who craft, and research weight, meaning, and importance.

To make worthwhile the time spent tracking down each item and every trait, even the ones you don't need and waiting/investing the time and resources to have researched all nine traits for every item.

Why should you be able to craft something over someone who went and found or purchased and researched every Nirn piece even though they did.

And to the guy who posted it takes months. It takes roughly a year to research every time in every trait with ESO plus researching perks and skill pints invested to allow three at once and reduced time.

Guess I'm a saint then. lol.

I do craft for guildies for free, everything to green level. If they want stuff to blue or better, they supply the tempers for it. I'll make anything up to v15/cp150 free. I'll do the crafting for free for v16/cp160 if they provide the mats, or most of the mats for it. I don't have enough of the ruby level mats to make the v16 level stuff for free.

If someone wants to give me a tip, fine. But they don't have to. I consider it supporting my guilds.

Do you even know how long would it take for a newcomer to get there? To learn ALL 9 traits? To earn enough money to buy the nirnhoned stuff?

It would take a new player the exact same time it took everyone else who has researched the nine traits on a piece of gear. No more. No less. Everyone was a new player at one time or another. Why would a new player now get any other special treatment?

OP, 9-trait sets have been around since the release of Upper Craglorn. This is nothing new.

If you already have 8 traits researched on everything, focusing research on the items you need should enable you to craft the set in a month or two at most.

They have included Nirnhoned in the loot tables for Trial, PvP and vMA leaderboards. So it will likely become easier to buy traited weapons.

I'm ok with it only being available in Craglorn. It's a nice zone and should be better utilized. And the thrill of finding a stone when you are randomly grabbing a node while leaving a trial instance = priceless!

I highly doubt it's ever going to change (and I sincerely hope it never does). Roleplayer or not, you will have to work for it like everyone else.

Researching all 9 traits for their gear? It's literally going to take YEARS.

Also, it doesn't take "years". Exaggerating will not help your plea to get the same rewards as those given to people who worked for it.

The odd thing with crafting in this game is that the more you delve into it the (supposedly) worse you get at doing it. Rather than getting better at this task (e.g. taking less time) each subsequent research item takes longer to complete.

    Seems a tad backwards.

Why should someone "who hasn't bothered with mass trait learning" be able to craft the same sets and someone who DID take the time , effort and gold to learn all traits?

People need to, PLEASE, stop wanting everything for nothing. If you want something you need to want to put a little effort into getting it. Nothing worth having will just be given to you with no effort behind it on your part.

The research grind. In 25 days, that grind will be over for me and I will have 9 traits in everything.

I'll tell you right now though, from personal experience, Eternal hunt is garbage. The bonuses you get from it can be just as easily acquired from the Marksmen set and the poison rune is a waste as the damage/immobilize are negligible.

Idk what type of RP would require that set but I would abandon it for another, more practical set.
