So what's wrong with Deshan...?

Every time I try to login with a character that was logout in Deshan I get a Internet connection error, after some tries I jump in.

This only happens to me in Deshan so as my internet connection is right, What's wrong with Deshan?

Having a similar problem with Reapers March as an AD. Are you EP? If so, then I imagine it has to do with the heavy server load with all the people logging on for the new patch.

There can be delays if you try to log into a character that was parked in a busy zone. This is why I avoid Deeshan on my EPs, using instead Shadowfen if I am going to log out.

This has been an issue since launch, although there are times when it seems worse than others. Usually, it is just a little longer to login to those zones, but last night I could not log into an AD that was parked in Rawkla at first. After a few minutes, I could log in just fine to that character.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

They should add more instances to zones like this one.

    PD: what's "EPs" or "AD"?

Well, I have an EP char and I would say the lag in Mournhold seems more severe than in Rawl'Kha/Grahtwood for my AD chars. Sometimes I have to go though a couple of extra loadscreens before picking my pledge.

Shadowfen is my city of choice for nearly everything, not only because of the low traffic, but the close proximity and minimum obstacles between important stuff. If the wayshrine weren't where it is now, I'd even say it would be one of the most productive places in the game.

The reason is that both Rawlkha and Grahtwood are excellently designed, hence most of the AD population is split between the two, decreasing the server lag on both. But for EP, Mournhold is the only city with convenient design, hence most of the alliance's population is there, thereby creating a data chokespot.

The trick is to hang out in the "good" cities in your silver and/or gold zones, those places tend to be ghost towns. You get the best of both worlds: convenient city layouts and minimal lag.

I just wish we could pickup undaunted pledges in silver and gold capital cities.

Yup -- Same problem, same error. I have two characters parked in Deshaan and cannot log in to those toons.

As a temp workaround, you could park your character in another zone at the wayshrine, then just. Both Mournhold and Rawl'Kha have wayshrines right in the action. Yeah, it's still an extra jump but that sounds better than what you are doing now.

Same here ... my DC Cadwell's Gold characters tend to hang out in Riften and Mournhold (not to mention the majority of their crafting occurs in EP Gold zones). They are quiet and don't have players dropping storm atronachs inside the bank ...

Well if you are patiente, after several tries you get in, just keep trying.

    @KriHavok
Thx but that's not the solution, after several tries you get in.

The problem is real, and they should look for a solution, as trying and trying or contact a GM to move your character is not a real solution.

Riften is my favorite in EP - except the stables everything is in vicinity. All crafts, bank an refugee. However I go to the guild stores in Mournhold and Orsinium.

Since the recent patch loading screens have been a bit longer ,more often and there seem to be drops in fps and an increase in latency . Seems to be worse the more people are around but even in groups of 4 in dungeons this can happen. I wonder if it is the slight change to casting abilities on the sever side

I get the exact same issue and know many others that do. Ill try to be as honest as possible to get the real issue discovered and resolved. So my internet wasnt the greatest when i got Disconnected last in mournhold but it wasnt bad either. i had a ~80 ping with ~20 up and ~20 down (just to humor some of you). Here are the facts i know.
    1. I have logged out in mournhold and had issues logging in on multiple characters multiple times.
    2. At the moment of having said issue in fact number 1 i did some trouble shooting which included SUCCESSFUL ATTEMPTS at logging in on other characters in different areas outside of mournhold.(keep in mind i tried logging in on a character stuck in deshaan before and after multiple times on multiple occasions to no avail)
    3. I have talked to other players who have had better connections than me or at least said they did. The point being they had the EXACT same issue.
    4. I notice a substantial frame rate quality decrease almost anytime i enter deshaan regardless of character.
    5. Yesteday i got a wired connection (definitely better than before bumping my ping down to ~50 and my up and down to ~30-40)
    6. I have been back in mournhold one time bc i try to avoid it now due to said issues. I was there to pick up undaunted pledge yesterday (again to humor you). During my time in mournhold I still noticed the same frame rate quality drop in mournhold with no improvement, but a HUGE improvement in trials connection and a small difference in cyrodiil (except during big fights 20v20+)
So what is the issue community and ZOS? I am asking you because I dont know. just remember the more dishonestly or half truths that are given the longer this process of fixing mournholds connection issues for everyone will take. So please TRY to be open minded and truthful.

It has nothing to do with your internet connection.

I have fiber optic 300Mbps/300Mbps and only throght me that message when trying to log into Deshan.

The problem is real, and they should look for a solution, as trying and trying or contact a GM to move your character is not a real solution.

I made repeated attempts with my main toon, then tried another, which was also camped at Mournhold and which also failed numerous times. I figured that the servers couldn't handle the load and played a 3rd toon I have.

Just the way it goes. Until Zenimax invests in infrastructure these performance issues will plague us. We will either have to accept the crappy performance or move onto other games.
