We'll be discussing some of Update 11's additional features at a later date, including new motifs, new item sets, improved facial effects, the ability to dye costumes...

Exactly!
And not only that...
- The idea of spending money is to look unique. But hey - everyone else will look the same! Yay.
- They give us really cool colors for our achievements and... lol. Can't use them with our cool costumes.
- I LOVE THAT COSTUME! Too bad it is made in my least favorite color. But hey, no worries, here's one in your favorite color... but it's ugly as hell!
Costumes
Dyes
Two amazing things.
Two perfect lovers.
Separated by ZOS.
Please, when?

But what if they later can sell you a recoloured version of that outfit you liked back then under a diffrent name? but you allready bought the one before because you could live with the ugly colour cuz it was so cool but now theres a new one in the right colour! Maybe even a new hat on it! like the Evening dress and the wedding dress! in other words its not gonna happen... i wish it would but its not gonna.
Evasion: Casting this ability and its morphs now requires that you wear 5 pieces of Medium Armor.
We should be asking not for dyable costumes but...
-Clothing/armor motifs of costumes.
-Imprintable custom costumes.
Think bigger and more long term.

Well, they have already sold a lot of costumes, if they allow people to "craft" costumes and make the items they equip look like costumes, they would be facing a lot of customer rage :P
and with good reason...
So I don't see this happening, even if would be thinking bigger and better :P
Perfect scenario would be something like LOTRO's Wardrobe and Outfits system. This is the most perfect character customization (in terms of gear) I have ever seen. Add the ESO 3-layered dyeing system on top of it and it's perfect.
But I guess we'll never see something like that in ESO.
But... They DID confirm they wanted to make Costumes dyeable once. I'm too lazy to look for the thread now - but they did confirm it is something they are going to implement.
That's why I'm not asking for it. I'm asking WHEN :P
I believe ZOS has said previously that they will NOT be adding the ability to dye costumes because they are not designed around the 'three color' system that we have for armor dying and they have no intention to make them that way.
IIRC they said that was why you couldn't dye costumes at the time, because they don't have the 3 Colors Areas...I believe ZOS has said previously that they will NOT be adding the ability to dye costumes because they are not designed around the 'three color' system that we have for armor dying and they have no intention to make them that way.

I mean, we have several NPCs with dyed costumes. Just check out the new zone, plenty of variations from the romanesque/greek costumes, also a red version of the Redguard dancing costume inside Dibella's chapel, etc...
@Gidorick
Oh, sorry, I didn't understand it like that. But that could still be a problem :P I like to change my visuals/costume all the time, even if I had them as motifs, I couldn't afford crafting a cp160 gold set with gold enchantments every time I wanted to change my looks :P
For that to work we would indeed need an easy way to change our equipment motif - or lotro's outfit system, where we can equip the appearance of an item but keep the original's stats and such. What I like about Lotro's is that it includes a wardrobe (where you can "store" the items that you only want the appearance (and throw the item away). In ESO this would allow the long requested ability to use the appearance of low level sets, for example. And the fact that it had several "Outfit" slots which you could easily swap, so you could have your casual, town clothing; your adventure set; your battle set; a winter set; etc... and swap between them easilyAlso, it gives plenty of options for ZoS to profit by selling more outfit slots or more wardrobe space.
