Dungeon Finder??

I created a new character and am currently at level 17. For some reason I cannot get Queued for a dungeon? I have waited hours before finally giving up. I've tried week days, week ends no difference. Anybody else having any issues? My vet 16 has no problem and both are slotted for damage.

I've finally been able to get in to spindleclutch but that's it. Same dungeon over and over... I tired queuing for a specific dungeon but never get it...

If you're going in as DPS waiting for 1-2 hours is the norm, tanks get in within the first minute and healers within 10 minutes. Queue for specific dungeons takes longer as most don't do random except to complete their random daily, but are queued specifically in line for the pledge quest of the day or previous day. However, many tanks and healers once they find guilds, they often stop using random pugs and go with friends or guild mates, reducing the numbers of available in the population.

Very few take up tanking in the first place as it is difficult to level that way except for those with a lot of CP already under their belt. You give up a lot of early points for skills that you don't need or don't help you anywhere else in the game becoming dead weight outside of tanking. Sometimes DPS get fed up with the system queue as tank without any actual tanking skills or setup, it's a gamble, sometimes it works if you get a high damage output group or it fails miserably as you are unable to hold threat and the bosses kill everyone.

I agree with what you are saying but my V16 DPS gets in pretty quick usually, it seems to be a low level issue.

The only reason I could think of that would cause the problem to be specific to lower level characters is that your choice of dungeons is limited and ques are popping for higher lvl dungeons instead.

Don't you have access to fewer dungeons at lower levels? If queuing for a lower number then there is 'less demand for you'

The Grouping Tool gives a level 10 access to all dungeons, I was with a level 11 in WGT last night.

I've noticed the groups my VR16 healer gets into tend to have a pattern to them. The distribution of levels always seems to be very similar. I think the tool is trying to create diverse groups. But anytime you create an equation and then try to convert that to code, unless you did both just right, there are going to be certain circumstances that are not properly handled.

I suspect that is what creates inordinately long waits for some.

If I were you, the next time you have an excessive wait, display the group tool and type /bug then check include screenshot, describe your experience. Hopefully some data gets sent with the bug report that might help them see the flaw. It will take everyone who experiences this doing this to get enough data for them to realize that there is in fact a problem.

Keep in mind with the upcoming update the tool has some changes. They will likely wait to see how the tool does after the update. So I'd wait till after then to send any bug reports. With any luck the update might actually fix the problem.

Oh fair enough *backs away sheepishly* i have found that as a dps i have very limited group finder success, but as a tank it is pretty instant. Supply and demand and all that

Dungeons people actually que for:

Most visited dungeons of any day:
Veteran Pledge of the day for gold key.
Normal Pledge of the day for silver key.
Veteran Pledge of the previous day for gold key.
Normal Pledge of the previous day for silver key.
veteran White Gold Tower for helmet and set armor farm.
veteran Imperial City Prison for helmet and set armor farm.
veteran Darkshade Caverns for helmet farm.
veteran City of Ash for helmet farm.
veteran Spindleclutch for helmet farm.
veteran Wayrest Sewers for helmet farm.

Many players are like me and have done all dungeons in the game 200+ times - In my case 0 need for another goldkey, silver key or pledge, and the only reason I ever join grouping tool is to meet new people, or if I am needy of a tank so I can help out a guildie to finish their pledges.
The majority of the playerbase are Damage Dealers, and many people who que in as Tanks and Healers are also Damage Dealers who lie, just to get into a group - because if they only que in as a Damage Dealer, they have to wait an hour+ to get into a group.

The best thing you can do is to join a friendly social guild, and socialize - get friends, join 5 active guilds and meet people, help out and ask for help. The more social you are, the better are your chances of getting a group for dungeons.

As a last resort I did a repair and it started working, not sure what the deal was.

lol could be a bug, could also be that you que'd into a popular dungeon for that day.
