Bull. Want me to screenshot my crowns balance for you? This thing IS overpriced. To put it in context everyone can relate to - where I live the mount costs the equivalent of 36 beers or almost 2 days of work at average national wage.

You know whats too much, every thread thats made after Zos overprice a crown store item, get this trash outta the forums Zos don't care and your taking the focus away from the real problems with this game. /Kappa

You think ZOS care more about those 'real problems' than how their new marketing stunt is working?

ZoS are starting to show signs of not being intelligent, don't they realize they would of made more money if it were cheaper as more people would of brought it.

What would ZOS rather have? 1 person buys it for 4k or 2 people buy it for 2.5k?, you would make more money if both of those people brought it, less people are going to buy it because it's is out of many player's price range.

See this is what happens when a game goes P2W, if ESO was still sub-based we wouldn't have this stupid crown store and none of these unlorefriendly things.

Oh, a newcomer! Hello my friend, and welcome to ESO :)
ZOS is known for making decisions that are irrational in every single way.
You're absolutely right, but honestly I'm not even surprised anymore. I would be actually surprised if they did something that actually was logical and well-thought.

They never fix anything without breaking something else, they always take questionable approaches to solving problems, and they start listening to people only when the situation is so dire even Molag Bal's Planemeld looks like a little brawl somewhere in back alley compared to it.

Speaking on topic, there is Maw of Lorkhaj trial. It would be absolutely perfect to add this mount as a reward for some very tricky achievement. Same thing was when they've released that infamous "fire horse", "a horse from Deadlands, from Mehrunes Dagon!". Well they could reward it for completing some insanely hard achievement there like doing a max level run without dying and wiping everything in extremely short time and all that, so we would be proud to brag about accomplishing it...
    But c'mon, we're ZOS, let's just put it on Crown Store! #money #p2w #whocaresaboutlore #transcriptionerror

If he does , good for him.

He wisely chose a profession that pays well.

Choose to get a liberal arts degree and wonder why you make less than a waiter ? Should have researched the market and made a better decision.

The market decides who gets paid what. And it will stay that way.

I saw what someone who gets their CCIE makes , and decided , that's for me. Would I have enjoyed being something else easier more ? Sure. But I decided I didn't want to be poor after growing up poor and decided to make sure of that.

" CCIE Starting Salaries by Track. The average CCIE earns $110,000 to $175,000 a year, with some earning more than that based on the CCIE they have, additional qualifications, and the location."

I didn't make that pay scale , the market decided it.

Just as the market decides prices in a virtual game.

There's no lack of pricey mounts in the game , so despite the gnashing of teeth and Bernie communist rants about unfairness , seems Zenimax did fine with it monetarily.

I won't pay more than $25 usd for a mount on principle. That being said, I do sub, so if i had saved up 4000 crowns from my sub I might have gotten it, maybe. That's a stretch, though.

Lol when people start bringing up their wages in this thread, if you're struggling financially I would think the smart thing to do is take a break from ESO, possibly all gaming until your REAL LIFE needs are in order instead of complaining what you can or cannot afford in the crown store shop #1stWorldProblems

Ahh this in no way makes the game p2w. It's more like a way to get ppl to spend disposable income. Like that cigar smoking guy. Some mathemagician determined the best way to get customers to spend the most money they can. It's not evil, they are providing a service and hope to make the most money they can while providing fun and enjoyment. There are various things to spend money on, some more tempting than others. I cannot get mad at people with nicer cars than me or blame the manufacturer for making the car. I just enjoy looking at the car.

I must have seen 50 of these mounts yesterday.

But only one other black camel rider.

Oddly the higher crown price with the seeming promise of exclusivity was the opposite!

Well @KingYogi415 ... Now ZOS knows they can charge 4000 Crowns for a mount. Think they'll go for 4500 or 5000 next time?

Personally I find it grotesquely overpriced.

But I think the price is most shocking because it is almost double the price of previous limited edition items. We're used to limited mounts costing around 2500 Crowns, so of course a mount costing 4000 Crowns will be a shock.

But then comes the question of "what do I actual get for my Crowns?"... Well, all you get is a mount with a fancy animation. Compared to the fact that you can get a whole DLC plus extras for less than the price of this new mount is the true shocker in my opinion! (DLCs go for 2000-3000 Crowns, two of which give a free pet as well...)

As an ESO+ member, I had been saving up my Crowns for this mount, but was expecting it to cost much less. I have the Crowns for it, but now I have to have a long hard debate with myself whether or not this mount is really worth it.

It is truly a shame they decided to overprice this item, as I could imagine they would sell way waaay more at a lower price, which would equal a much higher revenue. (Example: 100 people buy it for 4000 Crowns = 400.000 Crowns spent. 1000 people buy it for 2500 Crowns = 2.500.000 Crowns.... simple math and a better sales strategy really...)

The dilemma for me is not simply money. I have a good job and can pretty much buy anything I want from the crown store without meaningful impact on my budget. But this is an outrageous price for a skin and I don't want to support the idea that pricing things this high is ok. OTOH, this is the perfect mount for one of my toons, and affording it is no problem for me. Principle or desire?

Then instead of buying 2 crappy 2k mounts that are just sitting in your collections list, save those crowns for the 1 awesome 4k mount. Plenty of us did that :#

Yes, this price increase is not about making more money off the panther, it's about all the future price points and what people are willing to justify to spend more and more.
I bet they are hoping to be able to release housing with hundreds of dollars worth of options.
I was going to buy the tiger as I do most mounts, but i refused to support these micro transaction psy-ops ZOS has chosen to force down our throats.
On that note don't ask me how much I would pay for a rideable dragon.

    Cheers!

So basically from your 1st statement you're not happy that other people are willing to spend a higher amount of crowns on cosmetic items from the crown shop that it will cause items to be priced higher in the future?

    3rd statement the one I bolded, I lol'ed
