Those players who paid 4000 crowns for this mount just fed ZOS's greed and opened pandoria's box. ZOS knows now that they can get away with establishing high prices for crown store items because players will pay them. Stay tuned for more of the same high prices for items in the future.

Likely because zos put more effort into it than it's DLC.
SHOTS FIRED, SHOTS FIRED, MOM GET THE CAMERA OMYGOD
The jealousy in this thread is unreal.....all those moaning about the price would be buying it if they could afford it.
Jealousy? I think not. I have purchased almost all the exclusives mounts. Some expensive and some not so much. I had the crowns saved up so I purchased it. Didn't cost me a dime and I still think the price is too steep.

King Emeric simply does not have enough bronze nose plugs, false teeth and silk handkerchiefs in the whole of his palace for this one to be able to gather so many crowns.

Try queen Ayrenn's bed chamber. Might have better luck there

What would ZOS rather have? 1 person buys it for 4k or 2 people buy it for 2.5k?, you would make more money if both of those people brought it, less people are going to buy it because it's is out of many player's price range.
See this is what happens when a game goes P2W, if ESO was still sub-based we wouldn't have this stupid crown store and none of these unlorefriendly things.
For those with the disposable income, why not buy this for your friends too? I'm sure there are many who really want this, but it blows their monthly gaming budget on one item that is gone the moment this game goes belly up. Sure there is never a plan for a game to end, but lets be realistic, the issues with the game are causing players to leave, and the pricing practices are making those who are less fortunate than others can't get these items, even though they want them, real world stuff is a priority. You obviously have the money to just throw it away, or don't know the value of the dollar, so buy for your friends too. This costs as much as a full game and almost as much as a full game on release day, an event ticket, taking your car from empty to completely full for a 12 gallon tank of gas, 15 boxes of cereal, a box of Warhammer 40K miniatures, a Box of Warmachine or Hordes miniatures, 2 boxes of Battletech miniatures, 2 small or 1 large X-wing miniatures game expansions, the average single line phone bill, it represents about 3 hours of work for the average income......
There is no mount in this game worth 4000 crowns. However, there is no sense complaining. ZOS is not going to listen. Just don't buy it and problem solved. What is really funny is you will be able to buy an additional character slot for a lot less than 4000 crowns.
How much will character slots cost?
No one knows yet.
@Volkodav @Pandorii They just announced character slots will be 1500 crowns each. In a super recent website article.
I was absolutely prepared to drop 2500 crowns the second I Iogged in tonight. 4000? Welp. Not sure now.

That we could be discussing the things we will see on the Gold Coast, the best fish we caught or why the elves they are so snooty.
Instead our hearts and thoughts are turned to the fact they must have been feeding this mount raw diamonds to justify such a price tag.
Khajiit just finds it so pointlessly self defeating to shoot the self in the lower paws like this.
Tamriel is beautiful. Santie she enjoys her time there. So why create a feeling in the pit of the stomach as if this one had just eaten some very bad fish?

Yeah, 15 boxes of food, roughly enough cereal to eat breakfast for at least 2 months for a single person. I eat roughly 16 ounces every breakfast, and a single box lasts 4 days for me, so if you eat the recommended 8 ounces you will get quite a bit more meals out of it. Just to give you an idea of how much this is really costing you. It is costing you 2 months of Breakfast, 60+ easy to fix meals. 6 value menu meals at a fast food restaurant of your choice, Approximately 45 bags of ramen, 9 home made spaghetti dinners with sausage or ground beef 18 if you don't use meat.
