My dog knows when I'm playing ESO

I'm not joking. He doesn't like it either.

I'm not sure how he knows. As soon as combat starts, he's gone. Even if I play with headphones, turned down low, he soon runs out of the room. He doesn't do this for any other video game I play. Only ESO.

My hypothesis is the combat. Something he picks up on. Even if I don't get worked up, don't change my breathing, try to maintain a zen like state, it still doesn't work. He'll lay there, snoozing away, until I engage in combat. Then poof, he goes outside. Later dude. You're scaring me, lol.

Dogs are amazing.

So there it is, ESO combat mechanics, Siberian Husky approved.

My dog actually runs TO me if my fiance starts playing guitar

Also, if I get mad/tense during ESO my dog comes to me and wants attention. I assume he wants to comfort me when I'm tense :)

He also uses his head to lift my hand off the mouse/keyboard when he wants a walk. He's relentless on this. Truly though... something about me playing ESO freaks him out, lol. He's not even afraid of thunder and lightning. He sleeps through it.

    Dogs can sense daedra...

There really needs to be an in-game emote for that.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Maybe the combat music has some high frequency sounds in it that you can't hear very well, but really bother your dog. Like a dog whistle.

That would explain why he is only bothered during combat, but not at other times, when combat music isn't playing.

HA! That used to happen to our tank we ran dungeons with last year. We would be fighting a boss and he'd do something funky and then yell in TS "DAMN CAT!".....

I have a really bad habit of cracking my knuckles like every 15-20 minutes, and my parents have a dog that reeeeally doesn't like the "popping" sound it makes. Whenever I go over to visit and I crack my knuckles, she turns her head sideways at me and looks confused and worried. Sometimes, she will even walk up to me and sniff my hands, as if to check that they are okay.

I'm thinking it could be something along these lines. I know that I tend to tense up when combat starts, and I know he can sense that.

My dog stares at me. Just keeps staring for 45 minutes straight. As if to say, "Really? REALLY?!?"

Best to take the dog for a brisk walk and tire him/her out before gaming. Then I don't get the stink eye.

I KNOW! Is your dog older than 18? yes! I thought so! You can clearly see an 18+ symbol before you buy the game!!!!

Okay... Just kidding... It's still really weird that your dog responds only to ESO and not something simmilar looking to that.

I think ESO combat elicits a reaction in me that other games don't, and he picks up on it immediately. Could even be heart rate. Who knows with dogs, lol.
