Is there anything that can be done to bring up Azuras population?

I think your getting as much help as you can expect this next patch... The regular areas are going to be Thick with overpowered Stam DKs and Stam Nightblades... and I can see a small migration to azura as a net result.

On EU PC server Azuras looks just fine, there are lot of activities going on, people capture forts and so on. Looks healthy to me.

Forcing people into non-CP because your worried that it may be removed is a disastrous idea.

There are plenty of people who use non-CP Azuras having played there myself. You not going to have full population because no one really cared enough for it to begin with.

Forcing people in a specific battleground, by either merging or removing others, will lead to Very Bad Things(TM), where players either leave, adapt, or stop playing that battleground entirely (saw that happen).

Giving more rewards will lead to Even More Bad Things(TM) in the form of farmers, mostly with no skills, so, forced to move in ball groups or be brutally murdered by NPCs (also saw that happen).

Now, I'm also playing in the PC-EU server, and, as stated, we don't have that many population issues here, so... sad for you guys, but the reason why people get frustrated when playing in a no-CP campaign, in a nutshell, is lag.

With CPs you have a) more resources generation with less effort and b) more mitigation, so better survival chances.

It's not a matter of gear, is a matter of responsiveness. If your toon is not responsive, you die, because, as stated, playing with no CP requires more skill in LoSing, weaving light/heavy attacks, dodgerolling, etc.

The simple way to bring more people into a no-CP campaign is to fix lag, not in AS, but in the others.

PC-EU doesn't have population issues and, most of the time, I don't have lag issue, but, at times I can play with 200+ ms ping and, when a zerg is close by I can spike to 600+ ms and that is just not playable, so, if I'm playing a campaign that requires me to be responsive, the easy answer is for me to go play something else.

Now, this is just a thought, but I think many players are just not joining AS in fear of lagging into oblivion in a campaign that requires mobility and skill. Many players are thinking about joining, but rather not be locked for 30days in what they think will be an unplayable lagfest with oneshots everywhere )which doesn't happen... that often).

If the players see that Cyrodiil is playable, they will take a chance in a more challenging environment.

At least, that's my opinion, I might be wrong about that.

Please don't remove Haderus. Taking away yet another CP campaign is not a solution to people that don't want to play on a non CP campaign. It will only infuriate them more. Saving non CP pvp isn't worth destroying regular pvp by throwing literally everyone into Trueflame.

If the numbers are low on Azura's, my best guess is that it is a result of not enough people wanting to play without CP. Forcing the issue isn't the right way to go. Either live the the numbers you have or wait for it to eventually be shut down. Forcing others into Azura's by removing or making other campaigns less attractive is a very poor way to incentivize it.

I totally get it. Some people really love the non CP campaign. Try luring more over with the positives rather than making them come because they don't have a choice.

Agreed. I think the majority (by all means correct me if I'm wrong) would rather play a campaign that allows them to use the CP they've been grinding up for months or years. Changing it to a non-CP campaign made sense for a non-Vet campaign. I can see the value of it to vet characters that haven't earned up their CP yet, but according a survey on these forums, most people have a substantial amount of CP or are at the cap already. I consider 700 people to be a decent sample size, although obviously not indicative of the entire community, and likely excludes many new and returning players who don't visit the forums.

Logic suggests that since the majority of people here have hundreds of CP, playing a non-CP campaign would be like going back to a fresh vet character. This contradicts the concept of progression, and doing so is equivalent to deliberately giving up one's progression for the sake of giving others a fair chance. There's nothing wrong with that, but we should be able to understand why people don't want to. There is the concept, after all, of having earned that CP and having a right to use it.

Consider other games, where one might spend hours, days, or weeks to get ahold of gear or items that make them more competitive. Why would said individual obtain that gear just to give it up after? We wouldn't craft a set of vr16 legendary gear for any form of content and just not use it.

is Azura being empty a pure NA debate? I have been playing on EU Azura for a month now, and its almost always locked for at least two factions... , I personally think that a non CP campaign is one the best things that happened to PVP, Haderus is my second favourite campaign though

    Yes

Then carry on with the discussion.

Does anyone play on EU & NA and knows whether there is a (PVP) cultural difference that might help explain? What is the difference in numbers in player base between EU and NA anyway?
Well I know PC EU has more player then NA many of the top NA guilds and players have long sense given up on the game do to the lag and ZOS incompetence. With their being more PC EU players who enjoy that type of PVP and I guess still have faith in the game or something .PC NA isn't like that anymore from what I hear most PVPers have given up and left so its not really a point because their no one their to fight against. Truthfully I think PC NA might be the first one to die because of the lack of players to sustain it.Am sure we all can agree when Camelot Unchain comes out a lot of PC EU and NA players will be leaving the game.
