My VR6 is wearing lvl 46 gear, so I'm not using most of it either, but I'll hang onto it anyway, just because...ridiculous crafting bag capacity. On PTS you can hold over 2k of each material. I dunno how much more, but I'm sure it's quite a large amount.

I think ZOS mentioned some crazy number in one of their vids.

    @Wolfchild07

4.2 Billion per slot is the upper limit. Not sure how many slots, but it is one per crafting material.

So, in other words, you never have to worry about how many crafting mats your going to be storing, unless you need some for a project.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Cant wait to start hoarding! That's what Elder Scrolls games have always been to me, collecting everything. And the addition of the Poison System? I think it's gonna be sweet!

But your point about rendering the VR1-14 mats redundant is pretty spot on... Personally I hope they find a way to craft items at a desired CP level using lower level mats for the various looks. That would make them un-redundant ;)

Materials and services being made obsolete is nothing new. When the collectables UI came out and horses went account wide I lost so much in full stables and assorted max horses. The last stable slot was 100k. Then during the provisioning revamp I ended up with 500 old pepper. That stuff was worth like 300-500g each. There has been more examples but those two should be enough to cover the spread showing that they do not care about the effort and resources you accumulate and spend.

Had another thought on stuff like this. I know people who ground out more than 1000 champion points and payed real money for exp scrolls and such only to have them taken away and the cap not be raised since. Borderline fraud on that one. Did you know you do not own our account or anything in in it? You only own the game itself.

Any new player will still need gear crafted for them every 20CP

Its gonna feel good to have a lot more bankspace after kicking out all that galatite, quicksilver, silverweave, superb hide and so on.
I have like 2 stacks of every crafting mat + even more stacks of the vet 16 mats

1-160 is a breeze with the catch up mechanic. Sell them now.

I really don't understand what are you talking about. Do you really play the game? At this moment almost all low level mats sell very good. For example, I sell low level water/solvent in SECONDS and it costs more than lorkhan tears. The same with low level metals, cloting mats etc.

A lot of players level alts, level skill so they need materials.

LOL I've never been acussed of not playing ESO. This will be a change we will see in the next DLC. Low level solvents sell high because people need them for really ONLY grinding up alchemy. I did mention that alchemy and provisioning are different because you can't decon to level up your craft.

Although there will be a few people who will be in the 0 to 160 CP range, they won't be there for long with the catch up system.

That's ridiculous, it takes 10 minutes to earn the first 20 CP, and no-one needs gear crafted that often. I am fairly obsessive about crafting to have gear on level, and I only ever use VR1, VR4, VR9, and VR14 gear before end game gear. Any moderately competent player could get through Silver/Gold with low level gear or even naked, anyone who thinks they need new gear every 20CP is going to spend all their time at the crafting stations - never heard such nonsense.

I am hoping that the crafting materials will be re-used for the housing system.

If you use sanded oak to craft your bed for example it comes out as a different colour than say sanded birch. That way the demand for these older mats will spring back into life and make them all useful again.

Unless something is done I think OP is bang on. I have been selling off some of my matt`s that fall into this "dead zone" - thankfully many people have not quite twigged yet.

Well tbh, I have 7 characters on my main account (my main is already VR16 and geared up) and 3 characters on my second account (and 3 characters on my EU account too, so in total that is 13 characters hitting CP160 max rank all at the same time) that will suddenly be at max level when DB drops - I'm not going to be able to afford to craft max level gear sets for all of them right away, so will be using the lower old VR rank mats to craft halfway good stuff to tide them over,

My third account has only one veteran, and it got to VR6 in VR2 area. I have now 155 CP. So, new players need VR1 mats, and maybe upgrade weapons few times, until 160. People get to max level now real fast.

I need to make a dozen CP160 gear next week. No RIP crafting for me. I might leave some lesser chars only to epic gear, shrug...

I think in DLC after DB, there will be rehaul of crafting. The leveling and level of harvestables in old areas vs. new (Wrothgar and others) is waiting for a solution.

Only a few more days,so I'll just keep my mats, thank you.
I dont mind.I have alts of many different levels,so it will be interesting to see what mats will be used for what levels, etc. At least I'll have lower level mats.
Plus, creating gear early will help my crafting levels rise.
