Old Style Vampire PvP

Remember back when running into a vampire in Cyrodiil meant spreading out (something players no longer know how to do, source? See all threads concerning Proxy Det) to take it down and people would run Fighter's Guild and fire abilities just to take down the Vampires? That was fun. Vampires were a threat with something in place to knock them down when they showed up, but you still bet your butt you'll take a vampire rushing your group head on seriously. Now? Well, meh. Running into a vampire means nothing anymore. Playing as a vampire means you get one ult that is okay at best but could be swapped out for others and their normal skills? Don't make me laugh! People only run a Vampire for the stealth speed bonus, and at great risk of being 1 shot by somebody with camo hunter.

Granted, these things are being tweaked by ZOS come DB but it isn't going to be the way I remember it in the early days. It's probably a good thing, vampires were too strong, but it felt nice running in fear from these things that are supposed to be powerful undead abominations, and when I got to be the vampire? Oh the power rush seeing people scramble to stay away from me and let the Fighter's Guild builds take me down!

I'm sure ZOS can restore some of the fear of vampires without making them OP. I believe in them. Risk reward, strong against one thing weak against the other, like a serpent devouring itself eternally. Hmmm... Wasn't there a name for that image? Oh right, the ouroboros, the symbol they chose for this game and then abandoned the philosophy of in favor of making sure everybody has the same toys to play with. Everyone gets a Hardened Ward. In the last ESO live they even said their philosophy is to give all classes similar tools which, well, I don't agree with. Counter play is fun! The closest thing we have left to counter play are nightblades ganking casters and that's about it.

So ZOS, I'm not saying undo all of the changes you've made, but please restore a degree of counter play to vampires? Make it so if you're not ready to fight a vampire, you will be at a disadvantage but if you are ready, you'll be at an advantage. Thank you, that is all.

Ah those were the days eh...

30+ sieges @ a keep all around the whole place

DK's were the bane of anyone, pulling sorcs off walls

to die...

Vampires were truly feared.

If I were a Khajiit I would say: " this one remembers" right now.

I miss the days in which people were afraid to poke their heads over the wall and get chained. PvP was more chaotic then, but too many people complained (I mean, it was annoying, but it's fun to reminisce about). This game really has changed a lot since launch, some good changes some bad. Some smart choices that sacrificed some personality (such as the DK chain of DOOM being changed, smart choice, but took away from the game's personality).

Who knows what it'll be like a year or two from now. Well, we know what will be the same, people are gonna be b***ing about every class but their fav, players will still blame mechanics before they evaluate their own skill,

There has been good changes (like making stamina viable), but overall I think the combat has been dumbed down in favor for the masses. Instead of punishing stupid gameplay, it's been getting protected and taken care of.
But well, can't blame a company for that I guess, even though I don't like it.

I miss Vampires and I miss Mist Form most of all, before they ruined it.

Target-able, can be slowed/gap-closed while you're a ball of mist... meh.

It seems the fate of every game really. When I first started playing this game felt brutal, ask my ex bf about how I screamed in fury when I kept dying against a "boss" in a quest (the AD guy who spawned ghosts when you were helping Ayrenn out). It was sooo hard! Now, well, I don't like questing as it is never challenging. This is why I almost exclusively PvP, the only place with challenge clinging on.

That is the worst part.

Todays PC society is always like this:

I am not performing well in something (it must be that it's too hard, it has nothing to do with the fact that I have not practiced it enough and over time I will master it).

My child is not doing well in school: can't be the child, it HAS to be the teacher...

I don't have the same job as a person who went to college and studied for a few years after school, where as I didn't and just started working at a local shop. Now a couple of years later I have a family and 2 kids and that person who went to college is making more money than our household combined... (We should have equal money to spend, even though I have more mouths to feed ect.)

It's just the way the world works man, lack of taking responsibility and always blame shifting.

Back to the game:

I got killed by a guy who is lower level than me or not an optimal race for their class ( they must be hacking, no way they are better than me)
A person of another class killed me ( that class is OP and deserves to be nerfed! )

It makes me laugh tbh

Do you mean PC as in computer or PC as in politically correct? Cuz dude, I'll tell you what, the folks I see who are the most likely to blame everything but their own performance are the kids throwing homophobic and racial slurs every other message like it's Call of Duty or something up in here.

*sigh* Imagine if the gaming culture was more of the mind set of believing the game is fair, and if you lose there is something you did wrong or something the other guy did better. Some of my friends ask me how to become a better PvPer and while I'm no Sypher top tier player, I do alright for myself. I tell them to view every defeat and death as a learning opportunity. Don't hate the player who killed you. Learn from them, look at them with a sense of respect owed to your fellow player. Challenge yourself constantly (try to go toe to toe with an underlevel character vs VR16s, good practice). Do something stupid and reckless every so often and try to survive it (jumping into the middle of a heated battle between the other two factions).

There's still fun and challenge to be had, you just gotta walk away from the zerg, think outside of the box, and learn to respect your fellow players.

Sypher sucks

I heard he was good, regardless I'm not here to bash specific players. I don't really watch people's pvp videos anyways, bunch of narcissists IMHO. It's always full of over the top MLG PRO 420 NO SCOPE BLAZE IT edits to the video with annoying music and stuff, or it's just bad quality. Either way, meh, not my jimmy jam.

I remember the invincible bat swarm bug too . The invincible werewolf devour bug . The bugged camo Hunter silver shards spam . All that stuff .
