My problem is that I am a completist, without intending to be one.
Achievements for me are rather compulsory.I cant stop until I do them all. Then,I do them again.XD

On at least one of my characters I go for everything possible. Any time I am not doing content with friends or on an alt I try and gain missing achievements.

It would be nice if achievements give you more rewards suchs as mounts, pets, costumes or maybe some specialtitles when you reach a certain ammount of achievment points.

I have had the exact idea months ago, here's the link.

Just please, don't necro the thread.

I have17,100 on my main alone and I could easily push the last of few PvE need. I do not pvp much so I need most of the rank ones. I have about 95% of the total bar filled for total achievement points earned including all current DLC.

Yep, it's beneficial for people to understand that others can have different tastes than themselves and there's nothing wrong with that. Thank goodness there are tons of player guilds to choose from to find folks who share similar interests to oneself and I'm glad that ESO doesn't force players to adopt an achievement completionist play style either.

Quite some time ago, one Dev casually mentioned during ESO Live that they were thinking of having total achievements earned mean something more than it does now. Whatever they may choose to do, I hope achievement rewards remain vanity/cosmetic type rewards only.

Nice, someone who doesnt care for achiv hunters but understands its the same as being a pvper or wanting to play the game for just making gold. Either play style. Awesome, Ill make you a cake or something for a reward :p

I voted for "None at all! Every achievement I've earned was just incidental.", but actually there were a few achievements I was looking for, just for colors and other rewards.
But in general I simply dont have time to get all those questing, monster collectibles and fishing achieves and probably will never get them.

If there's a new dye to obtain, I might try for those, or if I'm close to getting all the pages for a particular motif (since that does give XP).

Generally I don't do quests anymore. On my new low level Chars I just walk around the world killing those in my path and collecting whatever I walk by. I have no intention on leveling fast on my newer chars and haven't grinded for cp in ages. So I just walk around, sometimes in big circles, just collecting mats and killing mud crabs. :joy:

You're missing out, the world bosses alone were done nicely (challenging) and the rest of the dlc is pretty decent.

I'll occasionally pick one and chase after it, like Master Angler. If there is a color unlock I want, I'll see how much would be required to get it. Other than that, I occasionally check and see how close I have come based on normal play, and if I am approaching an achievement, might put in that extra push to get it.

I voted for "None at all" since I haven't played long enough to actively seek out achievements. However, there may come a point when I will try to collect as many as I can, though primarily for the sake of unlocking dyes for my armor.

I did most of them on my main. However on my alts I only get the main, silver and gold zones. Since achievements aren't account wide I have no interest on doing them again. Wish achievementes were account wide so all my PVP progress I have made on all my toons (on the same alliance) go towards them. Say I slayed 100 bretons on my main and 40 on all my other toons. The sum would be now 100 + 7*40 = 380 in a single achievement (i think is called "Breton Slayer"). And all progress I do on each char goes toward it.

@Lightninvash aah thanks for answering my question!

I miss being able to do that sometimes :p

The closest thing to that I do now, is to park my char in a spot near sewer base, in Imperial City ..while I chat with my guild, to keep things active there. There are 5 mobs that I kill over and over, and there are 3 spawn places for treasure scamps too. While I chat I might as well try to get those insane achievements done by killing scamps lol

It get weird when pvp players get near, because I don't fight back if I'm busy chatting ..so they sometimes just poke me, laugh and run by - others kill me, I spawn and go back to the same spot, kill the same 5 mobs and chat :p

@failkiwib16_ESO See I get that and would be more fun if console had text chat I'd be more of a stand in a main city talking kind of guy. Since I like listening to music when I play I often do not use the audio chat and use the quick replies to communicate as is now. I know I should focus on things like grinding cp, getting my end game gear set, or golding the set I have now. I just cant see myself doing that anymore now a days. I spent most of my time grinding and not enjoying the game that I have taken a break to enjoy the game and pvp a little as well.

I personally do not play to get achievements, so if they happen, they happen, I might like the dye color, I am getting with it, and that is what might be of interest to me, but I would not put effort into getting a specific color and commit to that kind of achievement to get it. I can understand though, that others have fun hunting achievement and if that is what they like to do, I am fine with it. Some might not find things I like to do very interesting, so I understand that they do not play like I do (as an example I really like to look at details in the landscape and think about how those could have come to be or I have spent hours just to look at all the detail in Abah's landing and I might still have missed some) not sure I talked to all the NPCs yet and listened to all their comments carefully enough. I like doing stuff like this, which others might find boring though.

So each to his/her own - if they like earning or hunting achievements, I am fine with it.

@Lightninvash I get that, I'm really sorry you still don't have text chat on consoles.

I doubt I would have ever joined a guild, or done anything group related - if I were forced to use voice chat. I simply dislike being on teamspeak, or talking to people in a computer game - the game is much more immersive when I don't hear a male voice behind a cute female fluffy khajiit, or light female voice behind a male orc char >.<

I dont mind to join teamspeak for specific dungeons, if needed - if it's not needed, I prefer to keep to text chat.

As a worker and father ive put two years into my main, due to limited play time. If achievements could be account-wide that would be great along with the removal of veteran ranks.

I would like to try other classes but there is no incentive to spend hours on rng things like fishing, collectibles, random encounters, etc. However things like quests and combat achievements should reset for a new character.

I am currently over 14k achievement points, i can't explain why it means anything to me aside from a few dyes, but it shows how much of the game you have experienced.

Come on now, honestly! Who here hasn't said at some time playing ESO: "Oh, look, I got a cheevo!" Some achievements come with the passage of time so this is a waiting game and we all get them. Some achievements are unacceptable (to me), like killing 100 chickens, cows, pigs etc and also murdering innocents. Really?

Killing in the DB is different because that is what you do, but not just because you can do it in some sneaky way to get a crappy 5g cheevo after 100 kills or whatever.
