Request regarding Vvardenfell

So, we are still 300 years prior to any mention at all of the ghostfence being in existence. I found a lorebook talking about Vvardenfell in game yesterday, and its a diary that talks of the collapse of the Red Mountain in 2E 581. This appears to have led to the destruction of the main entrance of an ancient Dwemer City whose name I forget now. The diary relates to an exploration of this city, and the fact that it appears to have been looted for many hundreds of years by locals who destroyed a lot of the machinery from it in order to create rudimentary armor.

It seems there is no danger of Dagoth Ur or his creatures at this time and he is thought to be dead, the fortress in-accessible. In fact, we can reasonably suppose that Dagoth-Ur's fortress has been buried by this collapse, and he somehow clears it when he re-awakes 300 years later.

Lore wise i dont think its a problem, but morrowind is bethesdas baby, not zenimax's. And dwemer? Didnt bethesda say they wanted to keep an air of mystery about them, love the idea just cant see it happening, but this is eso, if Vvardenfell does come, then i want skyrim opened up to go to the greybeards ;) become a dova haha

It would be wonderful if the music from morrowind could be re-used.

Which lorebook was it? I am curious.

I have just found the Lorebook(s) in game. Its a well known series called The Ruins of Kemel-Ze. I got it slightly wrong when I thought it mentioned the collapse in 2E 581 - it doesn't, it just mentions that the cities original entrance appears to have fallen into the sea long ago when an eruption of Red Mountain created the crater. I am thinking from this that he does not know of Dagoth-Ur.

He also mentions 2 villages on Vvardenfell - Seyda-Neen and Marog.

The book doesn't have a timeline, but it appears to be in the few years prior to ESO, as the imperial has never heard of The Tribunal, whom the locals worship. However he does mention the Empress, and upto this timeline, I think that Clivia Tharn was the first Empress to ever rule the Imperial City. So it cannot have been too long before, as she took over after Varen disappeared.

Going by the lore, during the time of ESO isn't Vvardenfell pretty much barren wasteland? The only city around being Vivec? Not sure there would be any silt strider transit system.

I think the only other things besides Vivec would be the dwemer ruins, some imperial forts, and ghost gate/fence.
    There's no Ghostfence yet.
Isn't dagoth ur asleep still in ESO time? I thought ghostfence went up before ESO.

Yeah we went to and fro on that one for a while ;) The most important point there though is that the Ghostfence wasn't built until at least 2E 882, as that's when Dagoth Ur reawakens. You don't build a fence around something that doesn't exist.

But we're fine on places to visit. There is existing lore that says Balmora, Suran, Ald'ruhn, Gnisis, Sadrith Mora, Tel Aruhn, Tel Mora, and Vivec City all exist in this time period.

I think that's a misnomer. The referenced collapse occurred in 1E 668, and Imperials never understand the Tribunal, despite them having been in existence since 1E 700. Clivia Tharn would also never be called the "Empress"; Imperials are way too formal for that - her title is "Empress Regent", and everyone refers to her as such. What's more, this book was originally written for Morrowind, way before Clivia Tharn was even conceptualised. It's much more likely that the author is referring to Empress Morihatha or Empress Katariah.

More reliable sources claims that the Ghostfence was made "late in the 2nd era"... now for the awesome part.

    Vivec in Morrowind:
"In the past, the Tribunal made seasonal campaigns to Red Mountain. We slew Dagoth Ur and his kin, though the Heart always revived them in time. Later, when we realized we couldn't destroy them, we created the Ghostfence to contain the threat."

Seasonal campaigns to red mountain to slay Dagoth Ur and his kin... who are later revived. Man it seems like they wrote that bit of lore FOR an MMO!

Where do you get those dates @Enodoc ? I base my thoughts off of:

"In the past, the Tribunal made seasonal campaigns to Red Mountain. We slew Dagoth Ur and his kin, though the Heart always revived them in time. Later, when we realized we couldn't destroy them, we created the Ghostfence to contain the threat."

Which was in-game dialogue from Morrowind.
    http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Vivec_(god)

Ghostfence in 300 years sure, but what about the seasonal campaigns that lead to the creation of the Ghostfence? Do you have dates for those? It doesn't say for how long these seasonal campaigns lasted. I could see immortal (or at least unaging) gods trying to do something for 300 years prior to changing plans.

The seasonal campaigns against Dagoth Ur will only start after Dagoth Ur reawakens. Dagoth Ur's Plans states that he awakens and binds himself to the Heart in 2E 882, which is also the first year that the Tribunal are unable to bathe in the power of the Heart.

Yea, I went to investigate and found:

"before 2E 882: Dagoth Ur and his kin lie dreaming beneath the sills of Red Mountain."

    http://www.imperial-library.info/content/dagoth-urs-plans

Shame... would have been cool.

For some reason I had gotten it into my head (call it wishful-lore  ) that the tribunal had to beat down Dagoth Ur and his ilk every time they went back to the mountain, it was just after 882 that he was strong enough to prevent them from getting to the heart.

You lot do realize that Cliffracers are already in the game, yes?

(Now, as fightable mobs, sure, let's have them. Every time I hear that noise they make in ESO and can't kill them... *shakes fist*)

I'm hoping we get a short quest with failed Incarnate Idrenie Nerothan. Unless she meant the invasion back in Reman's day, she could be around now.

Nooo,..Cliffracers dont look like anything ingame in ESO. Nor do they sound like anything in ESO. Also there is no creature ingame that is called Cliffracers.
What creatures are you saying are Cliffracers? I havent been attacked by a flying Pterodactyl yet.
