How did they "[sell you] 8k Crowns"? Was it an extremely pushy and convincing salesman to which you now regret falling for his rhetoric?

Anyway, in regards to Hirelings, gathering 3, 6 or even 9 Skyshards (assuming you're not at the cap) is IMO a worthwhile cost for getting a steady stream of materials.

I'm guessing you're just swimming in Gold mats like Tempering Alloys and Dreugh Wax aren't you?

Yeah because you get those often... I average 1 of each a month through hirelings or I can get 5+ of anyone i want in an hour of farming.

If there's a sale and you buy something that you have no use for, the responsibility is on yourself.

For example, if I walk in to a shop and buy 100 gold-plated and personalised left-handed scissors because they were reduced to £1 from £1,000. Then when I get home I realise that I'm actually right-handed and have no use for these, it's not the shop's fault.

It's not as if either would say "Wait a minute, Customer. We want to make sure your purchases are going to have some use for you in the future so please can you select the options for which you're intending on using these for before we approve your purchase. Thanks".

Anyway, seeing as you're not going to sub again and have an abundance of Crowns. Have you considered using them for:
1. Future/existing DLCs
2. Mount and bag upgrades for existing/new characters
3. Experience scrolls for existing/new characters
4. New/existing Motif packs

There are a lot of potential uses for your Crowns, if not now but at some point in the future. I expect you're just blinded by your current anger.

A) once refined they are trash. Even holding onto them long enough to get enough to refine them is a nuissance as it takes months to build up enough to matter.

Quests are done. Its not about being mind numbing. PvP used to be nice till most of the good players gave up and moved on. Now, I do what all good MMO players do when their MMO is dieing...

Point out bad stuff in posts, suggest ideas, and wait for when the dev team gets their head out their ass or replaced and the cycle starts all over again.

It would be fantastic if the little twerps (hirelings) would stop sending common racial style stones. It would be great if the stones had a value of even one gold so that they could be sold instead of destroyed.

Not to rub it in, but I got 8 dreugh wax this week (have 5 top level clothing hirelings working for me!)

And the provisioning hirelings are brilliant, you don't need any other points into provisioning, and ever day get at least 40 mats per hireling. My crafter will turn those 40 mats into 100 vet 15 green foods worth 5 gold each. Every few months I watch a movie while cooking up all the stored ingredients and easily get 60,000 gold.
