Are you headed to QuakeCon this year, or considering it? We want to hear from you!

We’re currently working on our events plan for QuakeCon, and would like to know who is attending and what you’d be interested in from an ESO community event (QuakeCon 2016 is from August 4-7 in Dallas, Texas). If we were to host an event where you could meet fellow players and guildmates, and chat with members of the ESO Development and Community teams, would you be interested in attending? What would you like to see from us at QuakeCon? And what would make your time visiting us extra special?

Please respond to the short poll below, and reply with your feedback and ideas!

I'd love to go but last time I went to Texas I brought a blonde babe home with me and she hasn't left since.

Would be neat to see any type of Dev chatting filmed and put on interwebs for the rest of us to see.

Maybe a special pet for attendees?

Would also like to see one of those water tanks where you throw a ball at a target to dunk a person in. Have a choice of devs to pick from.

Another round table with guild leaders/officers (PvP, Trials, PvE, Merchant, etc.) would be my suggestion ... if enough of those players could attend.

If ZOS has enough of the next DLC for players to demo (assuming, here, the next DLC is Murkmire or Clockwork City) that would be a nice treat for attendees ...

As for me something cool would be a sneak peak at an announced dlc or something you are working on, a photo with everyone, and perhaps go watch a Dallas Cowboys game in the stadium together!

Live Twitch steam will be cool. May be a live text chat with the devs. Like a small virtual room with a Dev and a few Players (25ish) for 30 minutes before the next group move in and kick the old group out. Different devs at different times.

At Pax East (I watched it on youtube, but was not there :'( ), I am think the 30 minutes breaks between the shows when people can talk to the Devs then -- do the same thing at Quakecon but in a virtual manner. One one BIG live show and several small rooms when players can have closer talks with the Devs.

If it involved an invite specifically to me from ZOS to talk about implementing some of my concepts? Yep, that would do it. @Kalifas .

But then again, since I'm an east coaster, it would be must more efficient for me to just go to their offices in Maryland. Heck, I was near there last Saturday.

Seriously though, this is a cool press event and something for fans and I never was much of a "fanboy" type person. I don't freak out over celebrities. I don't enjoy concerts when I can just get the album. I've been to a few comicons and realized they just weren't my "thing". I'm kind of a stick in the mud that way.

To me, I'd much prefer a night of D&D or playing some couch-co-op with a few close friends over gathering en masse with a horde of fellow geeks anyway.

To each his own, and I know mine.

But still... it's tempting because I kind of love ESO.

I'd like to attend, but can't
I'd love to go to any and every Bethesda/ZOS event that I could, but since I'm European (England), it's too difficult to attend. However, whilst it can still be difficult going to mainland European conventions (such as Gamescom in Germany), it's better than travelling overseas. So some European events would be awesome!

But lets say I was going to be attending QuakeCon 2016... What I would like to see:
    • LAN party - An LAN party set up with different activities at different times to suit the demographic of players. It would be awesome if developers could join in on this too. For example, there would be a roleplaying segment where a group of players can roleplay alongside the Loremaster, a PvE segment where a group of players can do a dungeon/trial with the Dungeon Lead, and a PvP segment where a group of players can fight with/against the Wheeler, etc.
    • Free goodies! Everyone loves free goodies - The Bristlegut Piglet was given out at 2014 events, so why not a virtual pet for 2016 events? Plus, physical items are also appreciated, such as shirts and plushies.
    • Content previews - Being the first to see new content is very exciting, and I think it would be great if attendees had the privilege of watching the developers show off brand new content and talk through what happened behind the scenes to make the content.
    • Developer AND Player Q&A's - Asking the developers things about the game is very nice, but what I would love to see is the developers asking the community questions too! It's important for interaction to be maintained between the customers and developers. Whilst I'm sure these forums are read, there will always be points that get missed, and explaining things on the forums can be very different to explaining something to someone verbally, so I think this opportunity would be very valued.
    • Help create a piece of content to be put in the game - This would be the community and developers sitting down together to conceptually create a piece of content that can be put in the game. Obviously the scale of the content and lore would have to be considered, but something like creating a unique NPC, mount, pet, costume, or even a small location! This would be special, because if it makes it to the live game, then the attendees can admire what they helped to conceptualise alongside the developers, and a fun reminder of the event for the attendees when they see this content in-game.

Hmm... I was thinking a cosplay contest would be cool. Maybe they could have people pre register and hold the contest if X number of players sign up to participate. There could be some award associated with it.

I don't mind free goodies however I really plead to ZOS that this not be an exclusive item like the pig again. Give out physical items or crowns but please no more digital in game exclusive items.
The reason for this is with shows that ZOS attend being so limited and the only other way to obtain these items being live streams many people miss out on the chance to gain them.

This was one of the things that annoyed me in SWTOR. Awesome looking pets out mounts but only available to people who attended shows exclusive to the US, or worse pets only available via buying time cards from Amazon.com (which won't sell them to EU people).

For ESO players outside the North American continent (and even for many on it) it's too expensive. Host an event on the European continent sometime, please. If the USA-based music instrument and equipment manufacturers can attend the annual Frankfurt Musikmesse I'm sure it can't be that difficult for USA-based game makers to make an appearance at Dreamhack or similar events.

@Psychotius brings up a good point... and an idea. Could ZOS/Bethesda/Zenimax have a ticket giveaway for Quakecon? The total attendance for quakecon seems to be somewhere in the 8,000 people range. Maybe ZOS could get permission to give away 100 tickets. There could be some sort of ESO related contest. And maybe there could be 5 grand prize "Companion" tickets where 5 people get some sort of special day where they get to hang out with ZOS employees all day and go to a dinner with ZOS that evening.

Ok, now the thoughts are going toward a "Elder Scrolls Themed" event at the Dallas Medieval times restaurant.... that would require more time and planning than they have for Quakecon 2016. Perhaps 2017? Maybe???
