It does say "Giant", I know they refunded a few people on the forum because the assistant descriptions were misleading so you may get a refund.
Judging by the pic and description I'd have at least expected a dog or sench sized pet but it's a classic zo$ bait and switch and a lesson learned for the OP, always double check for yourself and never believe a zo$ description.

I have heard a lot of people complain about this. Thinking they'd be getting something of a comparable size to the dogs at least.

That's a very large discrepancy. If you haven't done so already, submit a ticket at https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/ and attach those images showing that the size of the actual pet is not the size as advertised by the preview. Refunds are technically possible, so you should put forward the case that what you received is not what you believed you were paying for.

Also @ZOS_JessicaFolsom please could ask the Crown Store guys to look into making the pet itself and the preview the same size, as that large a discrepancy should probably be considered a bug.

Sigh. I previewed the new pet, the nix hound. Looked good, pretty large, lots of details. I buy it and literally lol at the troll job by zos.

How can I get a refund on Xbox for this? It's not even funny.

In the future please make the size of the pet in the preview, you know, match the size of the actual pet.

Below I am previewing the pet next to the one I purchased. You'll see why I'm upset.

That's... disappointing. Shame on Zenimax. I don't buy pets, I only use the ones provided in game. Pets have no use in this game, in other mmos the least they do is help you loot items from fallen enemies but in here they serve only as a frame rate dropper. I wish they would make pets useful then it would be worthwhile to purchase em.

Making pets useful may eventually lead to pay to win. Eg a pet that you can only buy with real money that gives a buff or etc. so cosmetic only pets are fine with me. Use them if you like them etc.

But do note: if the nix hound is made larger a lot of people are going to buy it

They gave you a baby. You have to nurture it until it grows to the size it was advertised.

I hope you get your money back lol

That would actually be a pretty cool mini game. You get pets as babies and feed them daily similar to horse training. When they get to a certain age you could then begin combat training and they could fight along side you when fully grown.

Or am I just longing for a beastmaster class? :)

First, apologies for the inaccuracies that some of you have run into here. We certainly didn't intend to mislead anyone. That said, there is currently a bug with some of the pet previews in the Crown Store that makes them appear to be a lot larger than they actually are. This is actually fixed with the current patch on the PTS, so the preview of a pet will be a little closer to its actual size. If anyone is patched up on the PTS and able to take a peek, we'd love to know if you still feel the preview is misleading.

Why not ask the art team to scale the model up just a bit? Make it look more like the nix hounds that we encounter in the game!

This is great news, but can anything be done for the people who were looking to get a large Nix Hound and were misled by this bug? Is it possible to make a second, larger version and let qualifying player trade in the small one for the large one?

I had been waiting for so long for the Nix Hound, was so stoked for it, didn't even preview the pet before buying, it made me sad it was not even the size of any dog, but oh well only 400 crowns, and I still like it. Just wish it were larger

Just make the nix hound bigger @ZOS_GinaBruno scaling up a 3d model literally takes less than a minute to do and to implement the change would be almost equally effortless! I would love to buy the nix hound and have literally been waiting to get one as a pet since I have played this game at launch, but I don't want something that small! Pleeeeease? :D

I'm ok without the refund, I'm happy it was addressed and will be fixed.

Again, I didn't intend to buy it until i saw how big it was. I was like damn that's huge! Bought it and then was sad. It's the entire point of the thread.

I really can't let Gina - or anyone else - off the hook on this one.

All right. We have our scene.
    7ce0b043f74ddb99327d0b7f2ce53751.jpg

You might recognize it. It's about 30 feet south of Halcyon Lake in Bangkorai.
    tat47c.jpg

But there's no tree branch in that area. Just a tree. Now, we could guess which part of the tree eventually became the piece the Nix-Hound is standing on, but it's a lot easier than that.
    2akiq1s.jpg

The grass around the tree about knee-length high, which takes out the guesswork. It's not a small piece of wood you'd chop for mats. It's large, and thus so is the Nix-Hound.
    2yo4l4w.jpg

But here's where it gets interesting. Neither in-game scale preview matches the preview article scale.

On Live, it's only about knee high compared to the grass. Which is a lot smaller than the preview picture, but an acceptable size for the pet.
    15yjerm.jpg

And now scaled on PTS, where it's more accurately pathetic.
    2i78j6t.jpg

It should be knee high like the Live preview. The PTS "true scale" is, frankly, bull ***.

Communicate between teams. Because what you actually did was preview a mount-sized Nix in the article, tease a regular-sized Nix in the Live preview, and actually give us something we'd accidentally target or step on in the game.

That's the real issue - inconsistency. It's like nobody actually understood what size the *** thing was supposed to be.

Agreed. A nix hound is a similar size to a dog; they're all over Stonefalls, and you can see there how big they are. That is the size the pet should be; the same size as the existing in-game nix hounds.
