I have four VR 16 Character so shall I be getting 160 Bonus CP or only 40?

From what I read, you would only get a 160CP bonus if you somehow had a VR16 character with no CP, so you can wear gear of that level.
If you have a VR16 with any number of CP, you are guaranteed a 40cp bonus. The only character that matters to the bonus is your highest level one.0 -

✭✭✭✭CP is account wide - so if you have 1 VR16 you will get 40 CP - that means every character over level 50 on that account will be able to each use that CP.
Trying to explain it better - on my NA account, I have 1x VR16, 1x VR15, 2x VR10, 2x VR9, and 2x VR2. I have 514 CP. Those 514 CP are for each character on my account, so my VR16 has 514 CP, and my VR2s have 514 CP each, and my VR15 had 514 CP - and each individual character can allocate 501 points (which is the cap) in whatever way they want. When DB goes live, because I have a VR16, I will get additional CP - that is also account wide, and I will have those extra CP on each character over level 50 - and on any character that reaches level 50 at any time thereafter.
Basically, once vet ranks are removed, you should think in terms of having account wide post-level 50 character levels, rather than individual character levels.Edited by Epona222 on May 11, 2016 10:16PMGM - Ghost Sea Trading Co - NA PC

Depends. Your statement is only true if you had four max level chars before CP introduction (was v14 then if I remember correctly), since you only earned relatively few xp to take them all to v16.
I had 1 v14 when cp were introduced. I now have 5. That gained me in total 603 cp as of now. Not that I can use em, but I do have em.0 -

So apparently you didn't enjoy the game since you found it a waste of time to play four characters to max level. Just think, if VR's weren't being removed, you wouldn't be getting ANYTHING... and yet, with VR removal, if you create a fifth character, once you get to level 50 now they will be max level. I agree they could've just told us they was removing Vet Ranks and that's it. But they decided to go the extra mile and give us 40CPs extra on top of not having to go thru Vet Ranks again on newer characters. I think players should be thankful towards ZOS instead of bashing them.0 -

every character will have all the cp you gathered with all those 4 characters... the bonus is just a little extra, not a compensation for your characters
