Always this same comment. This makes me want to bang my head on the desk every time. It is so utterly blind.
- 'Elitists' don't group with noobs, they group with other Elitists.
- 'Elitists' don't need to inspect you to know that you are a noob.
- You cannot convince an 'Elitist' that you are experienced/geared if you are not. Even without the Group dps window, it is painfully obvious when someone is a noob. E,g, Armour: you wear heavy armour and use a bow and call yourself heals or dps or tank = solo player. I do 800k damage to a boss which has 1m Health. the other 3 people in the group do 200k. 1 is a tank, 1 is a heal, 1 is, more than likely, a noob.
I.e., You are hiding NOTHING by avoiding this feature.
But
It would be an awesome way to show off builds, provide Epeen and generally be nosey. Popular in many games and gives newbies an idea of what Vets are using for gear. No secrecy in this since the Youtubers Broadcast every semi-viable build for all and sundry anyway.
Just because someone can follow a FOTM build guide does not mean they are any good at the game.
"Just ask them", "ask nicely" - shows up in so many posts...
What about people who doesn't know English, or know only a little? This is a megaserver (*PC EU I mean), in fact with people from so many different countries. Knowing English isn't mandatory to play the game, but knowing it well is mandatory if you want to ask others for their gears and understand correctly what they describe.
I bet many people don't ask or reply because they simply do not understand other languages.
English isn't also my native, and that's also a reason I usually do not ask random players for more than basics. Sometimes they write something and I just don't get it. I won't ask again or ask for special treatment/longer explanations since I know nobody have time for this.
Now, inspecting like in swtor allows me to see the build before I ask for anything.
If I'm allowed to see their build, and in swtor we have enough time to read everything until the player stays in line of sight, no need to be hurry, I can ask specific questions based on what I saw and thought through. It only saves time, a lot of my time and others.
*edit G.
As has been stated many times before, even in this thread, why not just ask?
People aren't always nice enough to answer. I asked several people over the course of the game about their gear because I like the looks and didn't recognize the style yet only a couple actually answered me.
While I'm at it, can someone tell me what style has the 2 hand scythe? That was something I asked about and never got a reply.

@Vigarr I think it's soul shriven.

Bad players love not having this option. Tanks with dps gear, healers with horrible builds and stat allocation lol. Makes me laugh cause the ppl crying not to have it in game as an option are jus telling on themselves saying they're horrible in game lol.
