[ZOS please reconsider] Ability to hide CP ranks and account name

If they could remove the cps next to their name I wouldn't really give a *** about that but at least let them show in the group window so you can atleast see what champion rank he is. You don't really want to play with someone who is under leveled to your dungeon scaled on cp 160.

@names I really like this implement atleast you don't have to *curse* all the 8 names since that is way too *** as well.
They should give the option to give all of your characters 1 specific name I hate having like different variants of my own name I just want the one that is properly. I know they can do it. maybe make instead of showing the @ name the display name you want to show. And I dont mean character name with display name.

Has anybody thought of this? How confusing will cyrodill be if you see a multitude of levels why do we need more than 160 next to our name if anything 501 is fine but like ohh yeah look at the 476 or look at that freshy cr 2 "holy crap he just got two levels" or what about the pvp hate when some one kills you at cap with less cp or the flame for those few people who have the 4 digits like cant we just get a play on the veteran symbol next to your nAme your something for every 10 cp ranks up to 160 then a new symbol every 100cp?

I am not saying if its good or bad, I just dont know it yet but ofcourse if you go in pvp and you see people running around with cps above their health it will give the player kind of information like people with low cps like they just turned veteran they might have 30-40 points in cp you will most likely kill the low level players first since they are weaker, as vr1-15.

on the other hand if you are fighting someone with a lot of cp's you know they are most likely harder to kill if he has a decent pvp experience/build/setup w/e.

ofcourse there will be going on a lot of flaming and hate but that is just for the people who get angry at a game where they made a mistake or got outplayed by 1 or had no chance at all and trying to put the blame on someone else.
they have to urge to proof themselves.
All in all there will be hate messages..... but they are already there.... now it can contain something about @name and cp names... just ignore them as simple as that block ignore and done with that guy.

@Rune_Relic I didn't used the group finder, btw. And if you want to play as you want, without wanting to improve yourself, no problem. Just play with people like you or on your own.
I don't know, it's like entering a chess tournament in teams, and you are just a beginner at chess : you're just bringing your team down. Play with your little sister but not in a team tournament.
Or well, that's my opinion. I understand you have a different one, but don't assume I'm an elitist tyrant. That's just being rude.

And I said I was moving along and I'm still here, so back on topic :)

So you completely ignored the part about "self improvement" then.
    Convenient and not surprising.
    Given your point of view.

    on topic...
CS seems to be nothing but a 1 for 1 replacement for verical progression of the vet system.
So no reason to change anything to the way its always been.
    Vet rank - CP
    /shrugs

If its a horizontal progression system at some stage then power is irrelevant.
ie it just gives you options.
So CP is irrelevant...just clogs up the screen estate.

    @ names
Arent needed and dont reflect the on screen character.
I dont see why the need to be cluttering the screen.
Anything that can be exploited will be exploited

If anything, it's bad in pvp because it highlights suitable targets for easy AP.

    I don't mind this though

In pve it allows everyone to play with similar - experienced people. It is a good thing

There are players ingame who have beaten nearly everything before CP were introduced. So they had a lot of time farming them.

@Destruent Says the person not able to complete vWGT, vICP and vCoA. Thank you for making ZOS nerf the content.
There's about as much truth value in your statement as there is in mine. Learn English. And reading.

Regarding CP, looking how toxic and elitist dailies go nowadays (just read the search, "LF2M exp for content xy, pls link achievements"), you would make this game unattractive for those who just started playing. Yes, those "searches" sound stupid and meaningless to most people here on the forums, but truth is, the majority of players gets discouraged by it.

Please just make it non-compulsory for everyone and give people options.

    1) If they want they can show their CP and accoun names (e.g. turn it on when it comes to grouping)

    or

    2) just show how many CPs you have allocated, instead of how many CPs you have earned (makes no sense to display stats above the cap)

Thanks for looking into this!!! @ZOS_GinaBruno

I gotta agree, I'd really prefer to not see @Bagofducks somewhere, plus that's a real safety hazard, that's your login information after all.

And accountnames have been visible since launch, just need an addon, or a guild, or a friendlist. lol.

Sure, but account names were never the FIRST thing other players see, character names were. I don't understand why ZOS is showing account names, because it's totally immersion breaking and goes against the spirit of RPG.

it should only show what cp you have allocated - any amount past cap is irrelevant (raise the cap!!) and there is no need to display account names always, its too cluttered and you can already find someone's account name easily if you want to. I thought zos would have put more thought into this. It seems rushed.

I just want a choice. If I am PVEing, I honestly do not care how many CP's you have. And I don't want to know your @Name. Feel free to look at mine, but please give me a choice to turn them off or return to the original PC UI.

I'm a roleplayer. I want to be identified by my display name, my character name, not my @Name.

I don't see a problem with displaying @names, as they were visible before the patch already. When it comes to CP, I think it even helps. It gives you an idea of how experienced a player is (which of course does NOT automatically imply that he's a good player). And honestly I understand players who don't want to go into vetWGT or vetICP with unexperieced randoms. It's really awful to struggle though the whole dungeon only to fail at one of the last bosses due to lacking experience of one group member.

Also consider this: Seeing CPs helps a lot to identify the cheaters in PVP. If you're fighting an 150-CP-char with higher health/stam/magica, more speed, damage and regen than you with your 501 cp, it can't be honest gameplay, simple as that. If you dont believe it - go to Azura with your high-CP char and play a bit and you instantly realize how much of a difference CPs make.

I know tons of people who had to use email as their username. And I know quite a few people who have gotten some *** up emails because everyone can see you're username. It's not about having account security, it's about not letting people spam *** your email box because they are ***.

Hiding won't impact Gkicks or Elitism at all. Just like banning group damage didn't change anything. People are going to find something to judge you on regardless of what gets removed.

I like account name displaying. And I don't like when somebody addresses me with my character name. My character is not me. Her name is lore reasonable, but not mine. (I am male btw). I love chat changes with account names in it. I think everybody should be forced to use it.

What for CP levels, I think there should not be any possible way to see CP level beyond 561. Even with add-ons like FTC. When I write in zone chat "Healer 561+ LFG" there should be mystery how far beyond 561 my character is.

I like seeing CP levels because to me it does matter. I'm not fast to judge people but if I see a CP 150 just spamming snipe he probably doesn't know how to play the game very well.
