I'm planning to make a Bow/2h NB build. (maybe dk)
Bow being my dps bar and 2h my buffs with brawler. Is anyone running a similar set and having problems? With stamina imperial of course.

That is very viable as a build.

I'm a Bosmer bow/2H now. I started DW but switched to 2H once I hit level 45 because of Brawler.

I added the bow at 15. It felt really ineffective early on. But, if you stick with it, you'll enjoy it once you open up more skills.

What class are you? Are you doing good damage?

Bow and 2h is a very popular setup and is what I always run. The mobility that bow provides is just too good to not have to me.

Yeah i agree but i'm just concerned about bow being my primary. I researched about builds and everyone is saying stay away from primary bow.

    Stamina Nightblade.

I'm unable to log on right now for specific damage info but the bow starts out pretty weak, IMO. I would use it from a distance, get in what I could, then switch to DW. Once I got to higher levels, and opened up some of the higher bow skills, I was able to do much more damage in PvE and often didn't have to switch to DW.

Bombard is just amazing when fighting mobs. Against a boss, not so much. Poison Arrow is good. Snipe is a game-changer.

I'll be glad to share my setup in more detail once I can log on.

Bottom line for me is that I like using the bow. It's why I went Bosmer. If you enjoy it, go with it and explore playing around with various skill combinations.

That sounds really reassuring. I was hoping to use the mass hysteria and shade combo with bow. I'll start it and see how it goes then. Thanks :hushed:

Have never ran a bow as primary, only ever secondary.

    I'm currently running a 2h/bow stam DK

    PvP setup:

    2h bar:

    Crit Rush
    Rally
    Wrecking Blow
    Executioner
    Unstable Flame
    Ferocious Leap

    Bow bar:
    Rapid Maneuver/Vigor
    Dragon Fire Scale
    Igneous Shield
    Poison Injection
    Shuffle
    Corrosive Armour

Pretty standard for a Stam DK, but I'm playing about with a couple of things while testing.

    Obviously Champion Points will help.

I do know people who use their bow a lot from distance though. I've seen people drop instantly to stam nightblades hitting snipe from sneak.

My stamina templar uses 2h and bow.

Bow is for buff, aoe and dot setup.
2h is for main and boss.

I been working a bow/2h build with bow being primary and it has worked out very well. I'm a bosmer NB, bow bar is Ambush, surprise attack, poison injection, camo hunter, draining shot with flawless Ult. 2h bar is cloak(crit morph), rapids, vigor, rally, relentless focus, shooting star Ult.

My gear is 5 hundings/ 5 marksman, molag kena shoulders. I don't quite remember my weapon damage on bow but I believe it's about 3500-3800 buffed. My stam regen is like right under 2k. I have almost 33k stam, and CP's are spread into mighty, precise and the armor decrease.

I've enjoyed very good results with this build. If running with a zerg, draining shot can be replaced with bombard, and rapids can be replaced with caltrops. Also if you already have a high crit, you can put shuffle in place of camo hunter. Some people ask me why no fear on my bar? I tried this in the beginning, but with blue food my magicka was just under 10k and it was unreliable when I needed it. I found draining shot was better for the resources along with the synergy of knocking them back and I instantly Ambush/ surprise attack to them. Poison injection hits like a truck too and most people while in the fight fail to notice the 5k+ poison ticks creeping on them. And it hits while roll dodging. With the upcoming changes to draining shot popping a heal when disorient ends, this gives you another spot heal option. Hope you enjoy!

Edit: when I get home, I'll try to post a screenshot of the buffed unbuffed stats.

I like the idea of a bow build and it being the dps bar, but there is a flaw to it. You're going to want to play at range and there isn't many (may not be any?) ranged stamina CLASS moves to aid you.

If you play from range with a staff you still have class moves like frags, curse, funnel health, dark flare ect to help you, just like if you're playimg with a 2h or DW you get some stamina class abilitys to aid you. The bow lacks this and I feel that's why its underused as a dps weapon.

I have a stamina NB Wood Elf running either 2H/2H or 2H/Bow, both of which work very well.

I use 2H for DPS and the bow for ranged fun just because ...

Honestly I love bow but it really lacks in the dps. I've tested 2H, DW, S&B and bow, bow is last in dps for crit and base damage. Poison injection is nice, magnum shot is good to create space and snipe hits super hard. For me though I'll stick with 2h for my dps bar and s&b for my buff/defense bar.

*Note- I did not take the poison injection dots or any other dot for that matter into consideration when doing the test.

Actually debating moving stuff around on my DK now after this thread stayed on my mind.

Noticed in pvp I hit an 8k heavy bow attack a couple of times....some more testing me thinks m1703.gif

I'm playing Stam Sorc using 2H and Bow. These are my solo builds. Gear is focused on crit chance and Weapon damage and stamina regen. The only thing usually change is what food/drink I'm using.

For longer sustained fights i go for regen food, for better resource management, and to be able to spam skills.
When playing more easy content, i usually go for higher Health/Stamina food to take out smaller groups a bit faster.

2H bar. If you sacrifice some DPS for Stamina regen (2000+) you can pretty much spam brawler to solo group dungeons. Currently I'm Critting around 6300 on regular light attacks. 48K damange + around 20k splash damange on heavy attack sneak attacks. Very fun ;)

Thundering Presence - for a bit of area dmg and resists.
Streak as a gap closer/escape/stun (utility)
    Brawler
    Critical Surge
    Bound armor/Evil hunter
    Flawless Dawnbreaker

Bow bar 1. Mosly using in puplic dungeons or group dungeons for massive AOE, to take out big groups of enemies fast. With 20K+ health and 2000+ Stamina regen you can pretty much stay stationary and spam bombard, to stay alive. With high crit chance and critical surge, you will outheal most incoming damage, and survive a few hard hits. Bombard usually critting for 8-9K per hit.

    Arrow Barrage
    Streak - for escape
Bombard - For aoe / immobalize
    Critical Surge
    Evil Hunter
    Charged Ataronach/Flawless dawnbreaker

Bow bar 2. a very specialized bar for kite/soloing bosses only. Focus is mobility, staying out of range and interrups.

Magnum shot - To keep distance
Streak - for distance when there's no room backwards / escape
Venom arrow - for interrupts / dot.
    Critical surge
    Evil Hunter/Elude depending on situation
    Charged Ataronach/Flawless dawnbreaker

Sometimes i go Bow/Bow or 2H/Bow depending on where I'm hunting.

In PvE, wrecking blow has a good feel when you hit something with it. But it's kind of slow. You can double the damage with surprise attack/light attack weave. You can do way more damage setting up DoT's which I think is your intention.

Caltrops, scorched earth, switch bar, rending slashes, surprise attack, light attack, rinse repeat. It doesn't "feel" real good like one super strong wound up wrecking blow, but the added up damage will be an incredible help to dungeon run groups.

With a reapers mark, from hidden, I snipe focused aim 20k+
It hits nasty hard, but is kind of slow. Makes for a great battle opening.

A nightblade in PVE without dual wield (steel tornado) would have much lower AOE potential due to not having any stam based class AOE abilities other than power extraction (which is pretty weak). Also you would be missing out on rending slashes which is a VERY strong single target dot as well as flurry which is EXTREMELY powerful when paired with maelstrom daggers. Whereas the only benefit you would really gain is w little more healing potential from rally (which is not neccesary in the least bit with vigor), a moderately stronger execute (which would drop your dps in comparison to the previously stated abilities seeing as stamblades already have a good execute in killers blade), and a small damage shield from brawler which is already not very viable in most content and will be and even worse choice with the bone shield buff in dark-brotherhood. But as far as PVP is concerned if youre at least halfway decent then your gonna kill the majority of players you run into anyways (excluding the occassional organized zerg and dueling) so just do what is the most fun for you in a pvp setting.

For an alternate opener/insanely fast kill try this...
    1. Acquire Nightmothers gaze 5 pc set bonus.
    2. Use shadowy disguise
    3. Use focused aim
    4. Use ambush
    5. Use suprise attack
You can do all of that fairly quickly and in most cases before the target realizes what is happening.
The reason this is so strong is because of all the resistance the target loses combined with the strong damage output.
With the guaranteed crit from shadowy disguise procing NMG bonus combined with major and minor fracture from FA and SA youre looking at ~10,000 physical resistance debuffed. Plus your initial damage is a snipe (with crit damage) followed by ambush (which closes the gap) and an empowered Suprise Attack (because of Ambush). So youre looking at easily upwards of 20k damage (after battle spirit takes effect) from the first 3 attacks. Now that they are missing a good chunk of health and missing 1/3 of their resistance (if they are capped) you can follow up with whatever you want... (Execute if in execute range)/mass hysteria for more free damage (if needed(/incapacitating strike (to further increase your damage on top of another big hit) etc...
