Is allowing players to earn over 501 champion points good for the future of the game?

I like the fact I'm still earning my points as I game naturally I've always hated grinding, I'm still playing the game and earning the XP so why not let me have the rewards for doing so, I can't spend them it doesn't make me anymore powerful and when the cap rises I'll be at the cap again but let's be honest 51 CP, 17 into each tree is hardly going to be a huge jump is it,

Just think of all the one time quests etc if they stopped me earning CP while I was over the cap it would be a waste for me to do those quests because I would then be forced to grind up to the next cap rather than naturally progress as I'm playing (as I do now) CP doesn't even factor into my game atm I just play and every now and then it pops up I have another in the bank, no harm in that

I'm largely unconcerned with other players cp. I don't PvP, they don't have any advantage over me and they're irrelevant to my ability to enjoy myself.

All i can say is be careful what you wish for,

Bethesda used something very similar in concept in fallout 4 with the perk system- there was no cap on the "cp" you could put into your character - like a cap in mmo's - this case a ceiling.

    for me fallout 4
is great - even hard if certain "cp" isn't spent on boosting damage/ resistances and what not.

so after enjoying the hell out out of that game and the challenge i become so strong through my perks "cp" that the game became a cakewalk and i lost interest - and just like eso became a game merely about grinding to the next level - "cp" point

With the nerfs to NPC's back at launch - you cannot deny that CP has not contributed to the decline in difficulty in this game - but by all means if you can't simply play and enjoy a game without the sense of being rewarded for playing - by all means jump back on that hamster wheel.

Tl:DR and you needed to get back on that wheel-
CP has made the game far too simple - and not limiting how strong one becomes drains any fun and challenge from a already simple game. allowing you to progress beyond the meagre cap, just worsens the situation.

If CPs had no role at all in Cyrodiil, then it would make sense to let them increase to allow players who stuck with the game a better advantage in PVE content, but a big part of the reason why a lot of people never stick around in PVP (despite the obvious lag issues) is that they bring in their v16 and get torched by people who are can put out double the DPS between their gear and their CPs. It's never fun to hit someone with your most punishing move and not even see their bar move. On the flip side, a LOT of the high end PVE content is being completed weekly by PVPers who are trying to min-max... so there's no great solution here.

One of the things that always vexed me in other games was how I felt whenever they upped the level cap. I felt cheated, due to all the expees I -could- have earned from all the playing I did at the old level cap, which were "lost", and suddenly would have been useful.

In ESO, I will never have that feeling... because I will keep earning CP. Slowly, and without being able to use them right away, but they will be there, waiting, until the cap gets raised.

    No more needs be said...

No. CP system at max level is totally unbalanced and royally screwed up especially in terms of regen and sustain.
Sounds like yet another issue that could be fixed with the return of soft caps.

The feeling of progression in an MMO is really important even if it means almost Nothing by the time you'r doing it. If they haven't allow player to reach over the cap they would have had to admit that they were failing to release content,

The biggest issue about not upgrading the cap currently is that it's only postponing the issue to a later day. I don't know if you recall what has been said about giving people the capacity to buy V16 stuff for AP straight from the vendor again ? They actually said that people now had too many Alliance Point and that they would not have Something to look foward if they were currently allowing them to pick there stuff right away...

You see in here everything you postpone pile up, and we have to be ready for it, RNG system isn't something programmer like to work with, it's basicly something they have to work with

They have stated they would. Delaying the raise DLC after DLC. At first they mentioned it would be maybe 100~200 per DLC which turned into a disappointing 51 CP per DLC. This was all said by ZoS employees on ESO live and the forums. It's time to let veteran players progress their characters more and for ZoS to stick to their word about a CP cap raise. At this point I don't really care what the number raise is, but some progression would be greatly appreciated.

IMHO, allowing players to earn more CP offers a lot of advantages to the game.

First, all of the players that now have already reached the cap would have a new purpose apart from other achievements and PvP.
Second, it would provide us with more build variety because of the 75 and 120 points perks (and because of more CP in general, ofc).
Third, earning more CP would be a thing only if they release higher level content, which would be great.

Also, I can't think of any reason not to do such a thing.
    My characters (EU PC):
Leopardo Di-Caprio (Khajiit Templar) || Matthew Makehoney (Altmer Sorcerer) || Luck-Luster Burt (Redguard Dragonknight)
Clint Histwood (Argonian Templar) || Martin Uber Ping (Redguard Sorcerer) || Louis Farmstrong (Imperial Nightblade)
    Anthony Hotskins (Altmer Nightblade)
