I love how they hotfix this because of it breaking the economy, yet they themselves removes potency runes from the world which surely damages the economy. Hypocrits much?

Looting everything on the ground walking away and pulling a new survey out of your banker hireling set off their banning script as well. They have no way of telling who was legitly using their $40 banker and who was exploiting. So they decided just to ban everyone who did. This type of moderation is unacceptable, its very obvious to tell who was doing this to the point of hurting the economy and those of us that get an extra 1 or 2 of the same survey a day through multiple characters, yet ZoS totally missed the mark yet again on another mass banning.

They have already addressed this. Potency runes will still be farmable. Plus, you are arguing against something that hasn't even been released.

I suspect folks did not only get an extra one or two surveys per day. You can argue with the developers, but I am sure they have the stats to prove that this was a serious problem.

But i still think it's unacceptable for an emergency small bugfix to take a few hours to patch, like seriously?

There is no correlation between the size of an exploit fix and the time it takes to post that to the server. When a developer sees that something serious is going on, the server comes down right now, whether or not there is a fix. Best to stop the life-threatening bleeding before the patient dies. A fix can be in the works while players wait.

Stopping an exploit is not a good enough reason for taking the service down at this time.

They can take down their servers for any reason at any time according to the Terms of Service with which you agreed, probably without reading.

Nope, there wasn't a good reason to took the servers down during prime time. Not for this. There would have been many better reasons to hot fix something and they didn't.

According to the Terms of Service with which you implicitly agreed, they can take the servers down for any reason they please. You are free to patronize them or not.

I don't see the urgency in patching this, it's not preventing gameplay or affecting login (important issues that should be addressed immediately)...it's just a minor amount of people who are probably already loaded, loading up more.

    You don't. ZeniMax evidently did.

Well I (like most people) sat down to play last night and got hit with the maintenance notice.

Looking forward to playing I started to wait about and check up on this site for any word when I might get to play again.
But time went on, I got bored and wanted to play. So I ended up picking up and playing another game instead.

I fear that if the player of this game continue to get upset and feel as if they are getting the raw end of the deal, that everyone might just pick up another game and leave this one all together.
