I've only see it in action a bit, and I like it. A zerg was being a pain the butt and a player used it to kill the lot in one hit, spot on as intended I say.

So you think balance is one player taking out a zerg?

do you think that artificially and deliberately preventing 1 player from taking out a zerg is a good way to make a game?

No. But neither should that one player, with limited skill, be able to take out my entire small group because of a cheese mechanic and an armor set. If a few of us get taken out by someone who is just that damn good, so be it. But when every 1st day in Cyrodiil magblade is a walking suicide bomber who can wipe an entire party before anyone can react, we have a problem.

I would have to agree with you if a player is that Good then yes he should be able to take out 8 lessee skilled players by himself.IMO skills should usually mean more then numbers in any game of someone a better player then you why shouldn't they beat you?The problem with ZOS is that they want to remove Skill from the game and so they add sets like this so player can just cheese their way to victory.

Agreed that god favours he with the biggest battalions, but when zergs are making the game no fun for allot of people, in particular new comers I'm all for a way to stop them. I see it as balance, but I can see that the Zerg-Meister-Generals will find it annoying.

    @Beardimus
I play PvP for about 2-3 hours most nights and I haven't noticed any change in the amount of numbers of Zergs or lag at peak hours.

    This is typically the process:
    1. Zerg of 30+ runs from a keep to the next one along
    2. 'Zerg-busting' MagNB comes in to the middle and Soul Tethers 6 or 8 (I forget the cap) and then Proxi goes off followed by Sap and VD killing 6-10 of Zerg
    3. Remainder of Zerg kills this deadly 'Zerg-buster' and most carry on what they were doing whilst the dead either revive at the nearest keep, camp or on the spot before rejoining the Zerg
    4. Repeat from 2 until keep is taken
    5. Repeat from 1

Proxi & VD are really not doing anything other than giving easy AP to those players who lack skill and/or effort.

Camps are also contributing to the issue. Why ZOS bothered to attempt to reduce the Zergs via Proxi & VD whilst also adding camps so the dead can quickly rejoin is beyond me. Seems extremely counterproductive.

there is a difference between a "zerg ball" and a "zerg."

As far as I know..there is absolutely nothing wrong with zerging

As far as "zerg balls" - a lot of people standing in one area/pixel - havent seen many.

I can't tell if half of you know the difference between the two. Zergs are not going anywhere. If you think they are, I'll sell you land in Greenland because youre dreaming.

Proxi and VD are specific counters against "zerg balls" (you know, 5m range on the explosion).

What is the freakin radius of VD? Im definitely not in a ball and not touching people, yet I get hit.

I really wish the tooltip would tell the radius.

Vicious death+detonation is basically AOE caps removed for a specific build. Play as you want :-)

You know, now I get the feeling that a certain person really is biased towards MagBlades...

I mean, they could've just removed the AoE caps for every build by actually removing AoE Caps instead of giving us the Vicious Bandaid set

It's a stupid set, magic only, and mostly effects melee. I hate fighting next to people and that shouldn't be the case.

    ok I misunderstood you before.

    I agree with you.

These stupid gimmick sets are ruining pvp.

Everyday prior to vd there was Zerg ball groups everyday with around 20 stacking crown and receiving infinite heals and damage mitigation. As long as none of the players lagged behind the ball Zerg it was damn near impossible to take even 1 out. It was imo extremely lame and boring. There were ball zergs to join in within my faction and then ball zergs would be what we end up fighting. There was very little skill involved and just a bore / lag fest a lot of time imo.

Now we have VD. It does nothing at all to stop lag of course but there is far less Zerg balls. Now what you you see is masses of players from my own faction and the enemy factions actually spreading out and traveling and fighting like you would expect to see in a real battle. Rather than this lame as Zerg ball spam of heals and aoe.

As for me. I will be there cloaked and ready to bomb/punish any groups trying to return back to the Bol, rapid regen, healing springs spamming ball Zerg way of fighting and traveling.

of course you like vicious death. it doesn't make you a good pvp'er at all. the set can make players explode with an extra 16k damage when you kill one player how does that 16k aoe damage come from you or your skillz? vicious death makes anyone look op. no wonder everyone likes it. deltia even said its the most op set in the game.

I have trouble understanding why anyone thought it would be a good idea to create a way where 1 guy could kill 20?
