Power Bash and the fact that it does not CC

Why was this change made? Power Bash had a lot of controversy in the past, but all of that stop when the CC was fixed in Thieves Guild.

Why remove this CC? It's fixed now. Why is that Stamina now only has 2 CC's? Scatter Shot and Dizzying Swing. Please restore the CC, the skill was perfectly fine and now it seems useless.

    I tried it, It does not do enough damage to justify a wind up single target dps skill like snipe or uppercut. and has no real utility. I find pierce armor to be better single target dps and less clunky, though if you don't want a taunt you can always go with the slash as it provides similar damage and far more utility.

    it does not really have a place anymore, I mean I like it better then it was, but I still would not use it over other skills. it just needs to do a bit more, either damage or utility, but more.
    ESO player since beta.
    game got too disappointing.

    I agree, if they think it does too mcuh damage they could just revert it and keep the CC.

    ZoS has continually done this. The same thing is with Javelin.

    They buffed the damage to a CC ability, that is only used for CC. It doesn't really make sense.

    Ya, the cost of this ability makes it so I won't spam it for DPS. Sounds like something that could set up burst but not actually do good burst damage.

    What honestly was the point of increasing the damage of the skill and removing the CC? The whole point anyone used the skill was for the CC. No one has or is going to use the skill as a DPS skill. Anyone who even used the skill never used the Power Slam morph, which already increased the damage.

    Seriously, the skill was fine beforehand after the CC fix. Why "try" and fix something that isn't broken? Revert the change.

    Agree. Whole point of this skill was for the CC.
    Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

    The thing is, the CC DID get fixed in the Thieves Guild patch. Go in Live right now and test it. The CC is 100% now fixed and you can instantly break it.

    I wouldn't call it "fixed" on TG.. it has horrible CC break lag.. then again, so does fear... but instead of fixing that issue, they just change the skill.. is anyone still surprised by this?

    I agree power bash should have a cc attached to it. Lower the damage back down if needed

    I tested it in every way possible, I can assure you it isn't bugged. And in latency every CC has some messed up thing going on.

    I will say though, the animation for it DOES make it seem clunky but that's really it.

    They fix one bug with reverb, but is still doing odd things. Get stun with shield charge and get stun with reverb bash, then tell me there is not diference. I don't know what it is, but reverb bash is way more harder to CC break compared to other stuns.

    Ya it does seem a bit funky at times. But honestly, they could just change the CC and remove the disorient and keep the stun. I feel like this would solve so much issues.

    Honestly wouldn't mind this either. There's hardly any stamina-based CCs for stam builds. Forcing most builds to run magicka-based CCs when they can barely afford to is poor design. If the designed aspect of this change is to reduce the amount of CCs one can do, then that's going to further ensure that resource management is more out of whack making fights last indefinitely.

    Yo sword and board needs a close up CC, its breaking my immersion that you cant cc someone with a shield when you bash them.

    agreed haha, the animation makes it look like your PUSHING someone away with the shield, whilst regular bash actually looks like a bash.

    yes the pushing away version now does not CC.

    I think the devs might be struggling to find a place for Power Bash in the Sword/Shield skill lineup. You have a taunt/debuff, a snare/debuff, a gap closer and an ability that gives a passive increase to blocking and an activated effect against spellcasters. What, then, is the point of Power Bash if it is not going to provide CC?

    I think a neat idea would be to make it into a legitimate semi-DPS ability, so that anyone using Sword/Shield has a decent stamina-based damaging ability available to them without resorting to class/fighters guild skills.

    Here's my (very rough) idea:

    Power Bash (unmorphed): Does a decent amount of damage instantly, and blocking a heavy attack with the ability slotted buffs the damage of your next Power Bash (within 5 seconds or so) by 100%. This means that without blocking a heavy attack it would not be as good as other DPS abilities, but if you did block a heavy attack it becomes a very powerful single target attack. This ties it in nicely as a "tank" DPS ability, as you'd need to be actively blocking in order to get the most out of it!

    Morph 1: This would be the more damaging morph of the ability, where the ability would automatically critically strike any target that was off balance (i.e. after blocking a heavy attack) and would stun them for 2 seconds. Kind of similar to how the DK morph Flame Lash works for Lava Whip.

    Morph 2: THis would be the more utility-focused morph of the ability (and no doubt more useful for PvP?) where the ability would also affect any target with Major Defile (the 30% healing debuff). I'm not sure if it should be against all targets all the time, or only if used under certain circumstances... Maybe blocking ANY attack could make the next use of the ability cause Major Defile?

    Please feel free to add your own! After all, it's more helpful to suggest solutions/new ideas than to just criticise what the developers have planned already.

    I mean, Heroic Slash and Puncture alone are enough for DPS. I hit 6k+ crit Heroic Slashes in PvP. Like I said, there's very few stam CCs and the main reason Power Bash was used was for the CC. Pleaaaase fix this skill.

    • PowerBash morph: gets the DPS boost

    The cost of this ability is just too high to reliably use this ability as a DPS ability. They should just keep Reverb Bash the way it is and completely change the other morph. No one in their right mind would use an ability this costing as a DPS ability.

    that combination is what is causing reverb to be so buggy, just remove the disorient and leave it as a stun with no minimal range, so is usefull along with shield charge

    Some folks just really don't like melee-range CC, and I'm betting the change was to accommodate those people. I mean we're already getting complaints about "Dizzying Swing Spam" even though the skill doesn't empower. The empower was never the issue, some folks are just incapable of fighting melee-range CC. I don't think they should be changing skills around just to accommodate that when good and even average players have ways to deal with it just fine.

    Well according to ZoS it was because the skill was apparently "bugged" even tho it was very clearly fixed in Thieves Guild
