Because I loved Peter Stomare in Fargo and Constantine (true story).

Turned out, he sounded like he played King Jorunn while drunk (which may lore friendly, because... Nords).

When I first started the game, I played in all 3 factions. I just liked the DC quest line better and I enjoyed that character, so I stuck with that one. Now I still roll up most of my alts in DC as well. However, I think the AD quest line is the next best, and Queen Ayrenn-Kate_Beckinsale is definitely the best of the faction leaders, IMO.

I don't have a main faction, I created multiple PvE characters in all three factions, with no interest in PvP or indeed Cadwells.

I liked Aldmeri Dominion emblem the best <3 I also found a guild in Tamriel Foundry that was AD, so that just concluded my choice.
Skye Cloude - Sorc DPS, Master Crafter. Main, the bestest
Lae Lenne - Templar Healer Trial grade.
Dromede - Stamina Nightblade, she's a newb and doesn't know what she's doing
V'oghatta - Stamplar pretending to be a tank
Ulville Thonvella - aspiring Fire Mage, be careful around her fire sticks!
Dromedaris - lost and not found. Named after a shoe, what else can you expect from her? A proper tank in her wildest dreams
Swims-Naked - too pretty to grind, too silly to quest.
Sun Flair - Dunmer Templar that can't spell for life. To bad she's too broke to afford a name change... Well, at least she's pretty...

I picked DC. I mainly didn't know what any character passives were so the orc sounded like he'd be a badass so that was half of it. The other half was EP sounded like war mongers and AD sounded bland.

I picked my faction because lore-wise, I felt an Orc mercenary would fit in better than the more obvious faction.

I fully intended to have an Alt in each alliance, so it was really just Alphabetical as to why my first was in Aldmeri. However within a month I had a DC character, then a few weeks after that, an EP character. I have the Explorer Pack so I can play any race in any alliance so there was no consideration there for my racial choice. Other than I like Bretons the best so that was my first two characters, then an Imperial because I had that edition.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I wanted a good magika class and High elf is the best overall so i went Magika templar high elf.

always played high elf mage in all the previous ES games.

then i got the explorer's pack and still only use high elves for magika and Imperials for stamina.

I do have an orc DK.

Also i love the arogant classy high elves!!

    AD all the way

I chose EP and I play a Khajiit.

But as to why I chose EP, it was the faction my guild agreed on.

I played DC in beta and was going to play DC on release too. Then I heard just before release that my friend are going to play AD. So I made my toons AD but I haven't played that much together with my friends, in fact they haven't logged in in several months now.

Kind of a combo. I always play Dunmer, and Morrowind was far and away the best ES title. I also ended up picking EP because the 2 other friends I knew from beta agreed to all roll EP. I have an AD sorc as well from back in the day, but she is really an EP sympathizer. Haha

Don't laugh. I joined the DC because in beta, I tried all three factions. There was a broken quest in the DC that I was determined to finish. So, on pre-launch day, I made the first character so I could finish the quest. Then I fell in love with the rest of the DC. I have tried to do the other two factions but I have never been beyond level 20 in either. That is partially due to the frustration of the former silver (AD) zones being a pain in the neck to navigate and I dislike all but the last two zones in gold (EP). The quest line of gold felt disjointed too. At least, there is cohesion in the AD zones. In the DC zones, I felt as if I had actually become the Hero of Daggerfall.

AD. I love Altmer, I love Khajiit. I love the Summerset Isles. The hippy wood elves ruin it slightly for me.
I'd love to see Elsweyr, and more of the Isles other than Auridon. They can take Graahtwood for all I care, and burn down that horrible tree city. Hate it.

And I love the Queen and Kate, but the overall story I found lacking. It's nice uniting the whole of our faction into an ultimately strong superpower, but the other 2 faction's story are heavily involved in the war, and warding off armies of the enemies and invasions etc. Which I find much more interesting seeing as we're in the middle of a huge world war.

The dominion seemed very 'out of it'

I went with the under dog alliance, little did I know it would stay that way forever. :(
pre-launch lots of "big names" were going AD , and it seemed like a lot of players that wanted Skyrim 2 were going EP...
I saw a Alliance % break down on Tamriel Foundry right before launch and DC was the lowest by far, so I went DC.

Played nothing but Nords in every Elder Scrolls game so far, so EP was a no-brainer.

I ended up not liking the Nord, and started playing almost all Imperials. Then I realized there was an any race any faction crown store thing. lol. Ended up with a great group of friends on EP so it's all good.

My guild at the time all wanted to do Ebonheart, I figured we'd all have a grand ole time, then they folded and I ended up in another guild, still EP by a vast majority, so that's been the way of things ever since.

Picked Ebonheart Pact Because I assumed it would be the most populated faction for PvP since the most recent TES games take place in Morrowind and Skyrim. But what I failed to realize is everyone that thought it was Skyrim Online, every casual and 12 year old that played Skyrim also picked EP so I ended up rolling AD quality over quantity. Most of my friends are EP so that's normally where I'm at anyways.

I didn't have the Explorer's or Adventurer's pack. I wanted to be a Stamblade and thought Wood Elf was the best choice. I thought at the time that picking a specific alliance for your race/class according to alliance descriptions would give you extra bonuses, but apparently I was wrong. I don't play in that alliance anymore.

DC because in closed beta I tried AD essentially at random and soon realized they were the most evil, by far, of the factions so switched to DC, where the best people are. Simple as that.

Chose AD at first since I liked the idea and feel of the faction from beta.

Ended up liking DC more because of the characters, story, feel and lore more than I did AD.

EP never really interested me much, despite my favorite race being a part of it.

I picked DC at first for a few reasons, one was my friends fave races were here but it wasnt the main reason, since we all had imperial edition

This was a group discussion between my friends so its not just my opinion, so ill try to explain our reasoning

    1. Tamriel is currently in a state of war, and King Emeric is a merchant, At the end of the war the economy will fall through with the lack of consumption on wartime materials and the like, and tamriel will need a leader with a strong buisness mind to pull tamriel through those tough times.

    2. Skyrim kinda torched our opinion of the dominion, even if they are different in 2nd era, they are just 2 steps away from becoming the 4th era racists in many regards.
The rather irritating player community i have observed on my alts lend more credence to my personal dislike of this faction, no offense meant if you are of that faction and consider yourself a good person, my experiance with AD, aside from the roleplaying crowd, has been universally negative

    3. We have spent time in skyrim and morrowind already, as they were the more recent games, but it has been ages since we have spent time in daggerfall and high rock. So we wanted a nostalgic experiance, but were more or less put off by the possiblity of EVERYONE flocking to EP and drowning it in a large population

These were the biggest reasons for choosing DC, and even today, i maintain many of these reasons, even if i have a alt in each faction, DC is home

You have some awesome friends. I wish my friends were into this game. I tried getting one to play and all she did was *** and moan about not having a mini-map, other random things..
