So if every single character is like a person in Elder Scrolls, people at any giving time can change their minds. So here is my simple suggestion, don't know if it was suggested before... After the end of your Home campaign, you would be able to change your faction for like 10.000 AP. I would happily pay that or even more to change my Templar to DC.

Yes agree with this BUT i'd give the choice after copmleting the Cadwell Gold achievement and not at the end of the first main one.

Lore-wise it would be wise since well.. when you complete cadwell gold it means you got to experience all the alliances and it's just "realistic" that you find out that one motives for fighting are better then others and such... expecially since you get to see first-hand the "bad part" of your own faction.

Now my only question is.. if you feel this way why did you pick "yes" as an answer for the poll? xD

I picked yes for personal preference really. And i realise the discussion about faction change was a bit off topic. I picked yes becouse i don't like the fact that people change chars acording to preference in terms of AP gain. They look at the map and pick a faction just becouse it is in a favourable position. To me would make more sense if a player is bound to a faction. But after the campaign ends the player can choose to switch factions. To me is more immersive if i have to pick a side in war, rather than switch chars according to who is winning. But this comes from a mainly pvp player, and i understand that people have different feelings about this topic.

I personally am a 1 character 1 Faction sort of guy... (I know the pains of alt-titus, and the destruction it brings to one's life)

    (DC)

But This game is meant to be fun.
If I ever make alts, it will be purly for the purpose of hunting my friends down in pvp lol

As for faction pride, and Cyrodil pvp goals... yeah yeah... I'd be more down for it like i used to be if cyrodil was more... playable? For me now, it's all about the duels, refining my builds, and personal challenges like random pug dungeons/ 1vsX, and solo challenges like Thelonn does.

Speaking of which you guys should show up to haderus, arberetum! Chaotic mass murders, orderly duels, and some of the best players can be found chillin out and chatting here. it's a hub of fun at various times of the day

Yes yes yes yes... It will NEVER happen, but I would like to see this.

So tired of team changers... the otherside is winning, let me switch to that one.

so fed up of stupid things like the Purple alliance, the Green alliance, The Orange alliance...

Pick a side, fight for that cause, stick to it.

Just my opinion... but I think it would help PvP... could be wrong... but I think it could

Locking guilds and characters to a single alliance can only ever be acceptable to most players if there are multiple servers. In the case of ESO it would make no sense whatsoever and wouldn't, in any event, prevent alliance-switching or spying because people would simply create a second account, especially now the game is B2P with only a limited investment needed.

The only reason I say no is because guilds are cross faction based and if you make friends with new people in a guild and want to pvp with them you should be able to make toons in other alliances and play with them. Otherwise you need to make guilds be strictly alliance based as well. Just my opinion.

NO. This locks PVE players from trying the other faction's storylines. I LOVE being able to do the different storylines. And I really don't want to wait for level 50 to be able to say "Hey, I want to play Aldmeri Dominion." I get you PVP'ers don't like seeing people switch sides, but please remember you share the game with a lot of PVE players as well.

No. I have 4 mains that i play on a regular basis and they are in all 3 factions.

The solution is to only allow one character per campaign. That would take care of people switching factions on the same campaign.

Not all of us go into Cyrodiil to PvP, it's also a scaled farming zone, daily quests, and Sky Shards. By locking it to a single faction only, your other characters lose out on potential skill points and sky shards. For those of us who choose not to purchase any DLC, it's the only outdoor source of ruby cloth, ore, and lumber which I'm glad ZoS allows us to collect. It's also the only zone with meaningful daily quests once you're done with everything else the game has to offer.

Seems to be only one alliance in Cyrodiil lately anyway - AD.
Where is all of EP? :'(

Normally I'd say something like "EP is the known zerging faction", but things changed in Thieves Guild. The AD population is much higher than the other factions right now.

Not sure why, but it has made Haderus fantastic for earning tons of AP solo :)

So if I rolled AD at launch and then find out an IRL buddy is on DC, I can't play with him? That's just stupid.

The whole "faction pride" thing I just don't get. It's a freaking video game. If I want to play with people from all factions, I should be able to.

So long as there are skyshards and PvE quests and content in Cyrodiil, it should be open to any and all characters on any and all alliances. When they remove all the PvE elements, then limiting people to one alliance in PvP could be talked about.

Ehhhh, well had to say no. I don't really see the downside to have other characters in different Alliances. This game doesn't have a big sense of camaraderie for the Factions, and people mostly do PvP cause they like playing against (and whooping the butts) of other players instead of Mobs.

Then again I don't see the reason for having Alts in different factions other than having friends in them.

    I don't know.

I'd be fine with having to choose just 1 alliance to fight for. (Although I think some way to change it would be helpful, but with restrictions like you cannot have entered since the last reset and once you've changed you can't switch again for a week or something.)

But I would be absolutely against all characters being restricted to just 1 alliance. That's just needlessly restricting those of us who mainly/only play PvE. It's bad enough that we're locked into an alliance and cannot interact with people in the others even if we never have and never will enter Cyrodiil. Being unable to even make an alt in another alliance would be absurd.

This is not a single character game, there are 8 character slots and they should not all be tied to one alliance, not least when there are no alternative servers on the same platform/installation on which to roll alternative alliance characters.

Besides, there is no problem with PvP to which account-wide alliance restrictions are the solution, unless you're also going to call for only one account per person/household/IP address which would be both absurd and impractical.

Yet again PvPers want to mess with the PvE game in order to overcome issues of their own making. This particular idea would never work, and everyone knows perfectly well it will never happen.

I am AD only as are all my characters, as to dueling, eventually it will come out that I can duel my guild-mates if they want.

Most of our guild, 98% of them are AD. Our rule is, unless you are gonna duel/farm or quest, you cant be in the same PvP Campaign.

If you are caught in the same campaign and you are not dueling/farming or questing at the 3rd infraction you are kicked.
