I've previously suggested having options for racial passives where you can select a limited number of bonuses from a larger pool. I've also suggested having backgrounds that gives customization options and perks, as well as class specializations. Each is a kind of "you can get better at some things at the cost of not choosing other things" option, which is a form of horizontal progression that could be worked into the game much easier than many big ticket items players regularly ask for.

Now I linked some previous posts as examples, but this *isn't* about just those ideas. Again, those are just potential ways of adding the kind of customization being raised here. So, would you like see these kinds of options (even if not the specific version or mechanics I've laid out in prior threads)?

For example, you could have small passives that effect combat in certain situations, or a lore perk that lets you solve certain puzzles (or to do so quicker/get better rewards), or perks for certain types of crafting, etc. I mean, the World skill lines and the Guild skill lines are a nice start, but I'm referring to mutually exclusive things, where you have to pick one of many options for each type of specialization. You could always revisit your choice later.
